FBI deliberately hid Carter Page's patriotic role as CIA asset, IG report shows

The FBI’s four wiretap affidavits to a federal judge in 2016-17 deliberately hid a part of Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page’s professional life that would have revealed his patriotic role as a CIA informant instead of the bureau’s nefarious depiction, the Justice Department inspector general’s report shows.

The 476-page history of how the FBI targeted the Trump campaign contains over a dozen instances in which the FBI violated its own rules by including inaccuracies in the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) applications or omitting exculpatory evidence.

Perhaps none was more damaging than the actions of FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith, whose social media posts revealed a deep dislike for President Trump.

During the drafting of FISA warrants in 2016-17, the CIA had confirmed to the FBI that Mr. Page, a Naval Academy graduate and energy investor who joined the Trump campaign as an adviser, had served as an informant from 2008 to 2013.

That biographical fact never made it into any affidavit. In 2017, the CIA sent an email to the FBI restating that Mr. Page had been an asset. Mr. Clinesmith, who is not named in the IG report, altered the email to say Mr. Page was not an asset.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Republican, outed Mr. Clinesmith during Wednesday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz.

Mr. Graham gave his theory on why Mr. Clinesmith “lied.”

Clinesmith and his pals who helped him play this game better get used to wearing orange.

Well, all of them except Obama. He can go live in exile somewhere suitable. Iran, say.

Hate to see what it would look like if it was politically bias.

His role as a CIA asset is what blows the whole coverup to pieces.

why did they protect the Boston Islamic terrorists
and ignore warnings. not the only time, either.

did they convert the warnings
into: “he is such a good boy”.

why must Americans die and be falsely imprisoned
by these thugs who remain/are ABOVE THE LAW, and
IGNORE THE LAW as they f*ck like garter snakes.

Who is investigating exactly how Carter Page got the idea in his head to volunteer to work for the Trump campaign. Who at the CIA put him up to it? If someone, anyone, interviewed him under oath about all this, something useful might come out (I started to say the truth might come out, but let’s not go crazy).

Carter Page now has a superb defamation case against the FBI and/or CIA. He once said on Hannity that he did not want to sue the FBI, because “It’s not about me.” That attitude has got to go. It’s time for him to get angry and get even, if not for himself then for his country.

If he doesn’t sue the DOJ for a billion dollars then I think it’s a safe bet that he’s not a victim here ... HE WAS A COMPLICIT PLAYER.

That would make sense, but having listened to him on Hannity, I'm not sure that Carter Page needs to make sense.

It’ll be interesting to see if Clinesmith actually gets prosecuted and to see what the punishment would be. He was in on the Clinton email an Mueller probe, too.

He could turn state’s evidence which would set him up for Arkancide and/or get put into “witness protection” and never heard from again or the statute of limitations runs out on his crime...he hasn’t actually been charged yet.
