...Trump said Friday that his administration is looking into relaxing water-saving regulations for toilets, sinks and showers, saying consumers end up using even more water by flushing multiple times and trying to get clean with low water streams.

“People are flushing toilets 10 times, 15 times as opposed to once. They end up using more water,'' Trump said while talking with business owners about what he said are ‘’common sense'' steps to end overregulation. "The EPA is looking at that very strongly at my suggestion.''

Not only do they not flush well, they don’t push the waste completely out of the septic lines to the septic tank or sewer lines.

That’s right. I had to spell it out so people would see it and not wonder.

They are. It stinks and is nasty to look at. But there are tech solutions..

New, slippery toilet coating provides cleaner flushing, saves water

I want my old washer back...one that I can set the water temp, stop mid-cycle and put something in or take something out. My water comes directly from a mountain spring and is very cold. In order to do a load of wash I have to pour a bucket of hot water into the washer tub to mmix with the cold. In order to re-distribute the load mid-cycle I have to go through all sorts of secret codes and cuss a lot. No wonder I have high bp. I also want the telemarketing to stop. These two fixes would cut my liquor bill in half.

What you can’t flush with 8oz of water. Try using just one sheet of paper, it will flush easily.

Trump’s sounding like an out-of-touch old man.

Modern toilets work great - better than most of the old high-flow ones.

We were poor when I was growing up and mama would buy the cheapest canned biscuits in the store. Nobody really liked them and most of them ended up being thrown out to the chickens and dogs. Then one day I asked her is she was really saving money if she theow the biscuits out because no one liked them. From then on she bought the Pillsbury brand.

So my neighbor and my toilet flushes 1-2 gallons less than 40 years ago, meanwhile, he’s out watering his lawn 2 hours a day.

Most low usage toilets work very well these days, and they don’t overflow and flood like the old ones did.

However, the regulations should be relaxed.

Most water is used by agriculture and industry, not households.

President Trump owns large properties and has faced maintenance issues.

I keep a plumber’s helper and towel near the WC and periodically flush twice.

I have a new low flow toilet. It flushes every time and will suck the air out of the room if the door is closed. It’s a Kohler brand that we installed when we added a bathroom.

I have no problem with the low flush toilets. If they do happen to get clogged they don’t overflow cause there’s not enough water in the tank. Then you use the good plunger. As for the shower head.just take the water restrictor out of it or drill a larger hole.

"There was always a common solution. Toilets with two flush options. First one for a gallon for #1 and second one for 3 gallons for 2."

Back in the 60's, my family lived in France, in the country. The outhouse was the only place to do one's business. My mother put up a stink and demanded that an indoor toilet be installed. Soon one was installed. It was made of metal and c-c-c-cold. As a preschooler and used to USA toilets, I was always confused as to how to drive it. There was a stick on the side and depending what you planned to do, the stick had to be moved forward or backward. Thinking back now, maybe it was a compost toilet. Not long after my numerous mishaps, a real toilet was installed.
