Lamar Alexander and Ronnie Jerome Hill were the two robbery suspects who were killed in a dramatic police chase and shootout after a diamond heist at a jewelry store in the Miami, Florida area, according to the FBI.
The FBI identifies the two deceased individuals responsible for yesterdays jewelry store robbery, carjacking/kidnapping and shootings as Lamar Alexander, 41, and Ronnie Jerome Hill, 41, both of Miami-Dade County, a tweet from FBI Miami stated.
Alexanders family is already speaking out. He just made bad decisions in life and it cost him his, Alexanders brother told WPLGs Ian Margol.
Many people were gripped by the live news video of the pursuit, and citizen videos captured the chaos and gunfire. However, serious questions remain about the deaths of two innocent people caught in the midst of it all: The UPS driver the FBI says was taken hostage by the suspects, and a bystander in a car. Outraged people on social media and the brother of the UPS driver say police gunfire killed the innocent people, although the FBI says thats not yet clear because the complex series of scenes is under investigation.
Frank Ordonez was named by CBS Miami as the UPS driver who was killed during the wild police chase. He was a young father.

He just made bad decisions in life and it cost him his,...
No. I MADE a bad decision this morning by having an extra breakfast sausage when i need to lose weight.
This guy was a MONSTER.
And now he’s a DEAD monster.
And now folks on social media are blaming the police for the civilian deaths.
I didn’t read enough and I don’t know enough to know if it could have been handled better.
I DO KNOW who started this mess!!
Whatever procedure police did or didn’t follow, they didn’t wake up and decide to commit a brutal robbery gone bad
Yeah the cops should never use innocent civilians as human shields which they did when they kid behind cars stuck in traffic while they shot at the ups truck
I’d heard Senator Alexander was retiring, but I would have thought he’d be pretty well set up by now.
WOW.
Damn.
With his morals, financial acumen, intelligence and propensity to theft, no-one is surprised at this.
Does Governor Lee get to pick Lamar’s replacement?
I agree.
What I think happened was this was a very long pursuit with five different departments involved. Most likely there was no single person in command to tell them to back off in that situation.
Similar events happened to George Washington and US Grant when they were inexperienced and lost control of their soldiers.
That’s who I thought about as well. 8>)
Something must be wrong with my screen colors. I thought the nice kind perps we’re crackers.
Obviously, they were both in medical school. They’re wearing scrubs.
5 different departments. Wow.
I assume they will do training on this going forward.
If, as one person said, cops were hiding behind passenger cars with people in them, then that is VERY wrong.
If it was procedural, then that needs to be addressed but not as wrong.
I wasn’t there so I wouldn’t vindicate or condemn.
Or judge without knowing more.
I know there’s issues with a number of police but it’s still a crazy job and I remember the stories my friends told me.
They saw a lot
I saw Lamar Alexander in the headline and thought this was going to be satire.... who knew theres more than one
Not Lamar Alexander our TN senator ???
They were turning their life around and about to graduate from community medical college.
We have just began to process the crime scene, cover our ass Piro said. There, fixed it.
But I guess all those plaid shirts don't come cheap.
First surprise: He's still alive.
Second surprise: He's still in Congress.
Third surprise: He got really old.
The cops could not have botched this more. Its a UPS truck. Its not going anywhere. Follow it with a helicopter, wait till it runs out of gas and the bad guys run, but don’t surround it with dozens of cops on a busy highway. They killed the bad guys AND two innocent civilians.
I WAS thinking why high speed chase a UPS TRUCK??
I dunno. The fear that they would murder many more trying to escape by hijacking other cars?
Doesn’t make sense though.
Helicopters and marksmen would make more sense.
But i’m FAR from a tactics expert so I’ll defer to others.
