The producers have been ordered to give the quack air time, so they do. He is fed scripted questions.
The function of the program is to sell advertising time, so they (the network) can turn a profit. Nothing it does is inherently honest. Most of what it contains is speculation and opinion, with a smattering of raw content, unblemished by talking head commentators.
