He just uttered the most objective “adult in the room” speech I have heard yet in my lifetime.
He seems to look at Trump the way I looked at Kavanaugh during those hearings. I’m not a Kavanaugh fan, but when I saw what they were trying to do to him I became a HUGE defender of him.

Good the republicans can get these motions voted on to show the one sided nature of the proceeding and why its important to vote to not allow the Dems to control these types of committees.
Watching this I wonder what an Obama impeachment would have looked like. Theres more evidence of his and Hillary affecting foreign policy by funding than Trump just wanting to check out a country under his duty .

Yep, he is the one only adult in the room. He made it very clear that it is dangerous for both sides and the people to continue this precedent going forward and that it WILL be used again when it is THEIR turn. It is the wrong door to open based on emotions because of being mad. Even his dog is mad... lol

I'm surprised that this idea hasn't gotten more push back. To me, "personal gain" would have been if Trump received some sort of private gain, to his business or family, for example. But, all he even asked for was to have an official government investigation of possible corruption. And while it would have benefited Trump, politically, it would have also benefited all the other Democrats running for the nomination and it would have benefited the American people, who would have been informed of a corrupt politician.
