A Polish museum on Sunday slammed US e-commerce giant Amazon for selling Christmas ornaments with images of the Nazi German death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau, calling them inappropriate.
The museum at the site of the former camp in southern Poland tweeted screenshots of the items showing train tracks and barracks and requested that Amazon remove them from their site.
"Selling 'Christmas ornaments' with images of Auschwitz does not seem appropriate. Auschwitz on a bottle opener is rather disturbing and disrespectful," the museum tweeted.
The museum added later that Amazon appeared to have removed the items -- but then posted a follow-up saying it had discovered others.
Those include a "disturbing" mousepad and a ceramic Christmas ornament with a freight car used for deporting Jews for extermination.

Theyll probably want to cancel the bath bombs too.
It was actually an online retailer that was selling through Amazon. None the less, made Amazon look terrible. Not sure how they could police every single item being posted on their site though, as huge as it is.
I would imagine that they were produced as a hoax for the purpose of scamming online malls and storefronts.
They can be used to con really stupid people into being outraged that automated storefront platforms don’t rigorously investigate every product that the stores they host sell.
That way extortion will work in the future.
What do you think the reason is?
I don’t know the percentages, but a large portion of “Amazon’s product” simply ships direct from origin. Amazon is simply an e-commerce platform.
And most of this crap is shipping direct from China.
The world remains fascinated by the demonic cruelty committed at Auschwitz. Evil rules.
I wonder if they sell suicide vests in Somalia and Syria?
. . . and the hoodies in Prussian blue . . .
Amazon has created a monster with third-party sellers that it clearly has little to no oversight over. It’s routinely becoming a PR disaster for Amazon!
I doubt amazon sold them directly, but rather one of its smaller third party sellers.
I’ve found crooked dealers selling failed return merchandise as new, selling counterfeit products. Amazon has a huge problem policing all of its merchants selling on their platform.
“Fulfilled by Amazon” doesn’t even guarantee that the product is not counterfeit or a return resold as new.
Just hearing about 3rd party seller problems. One thing I was interested in, reviewers that left low scores were hounded by the seller to change the vote, including phone calls.
Yes, they don't do a good job of it at all. They have as many people selling bootleg merchandise as Ebay does.
Like alleged 'hate crimes' you can't know the motive until you identify the culprit.
I don't know who did this or way.
An honest mistake? (The most unlikely)
Someone trying create a 'teachable moment' about the Holocaust?
Someone who wanted to make retailers look bad?
A prank? Someone who wanted to troll retailers and customers?
Someone who wanted to make people who celebrate Christmas look like idiots?
I'm not sure.
I'd like a news organization to actually investigate before they simply condemn any retailer who likely had no idea what they were.
Evil rules.
At the very least, its unavoidably attractive to a great many.
I heard some people talking at the water cooler at work. Everyone knows this was a fund raising gimmick for the Democrat Party 2020 Congressional Campaign Fund
(What I learned from the Democrat Impeachment hearings..hearsay is now evidence right?)
Someone had to think it up, figure it was a good idea, and someone else had to agree to it in order to put something like that up for sale.
I cannot fathom how some stuff just does not get shot down from it’s very inception.
I bought two identical Seagate 10 TB drives for a home server. When they arrived, they were clearly different. I sent pics of the coded labels on the drives (not on the box) to Seagate and they quickly replied one was legit, one was not theirs. They didn’t call it fake or counterfeit — just that it wasn’t theirs. The case was different, the form factor was different, the weight was different.
Other buyers had warned that the seller was doing that, but I thought “that can’t happen to me.” Ha! Wishful thinking.
Luckily I got a refund. I wound up buying the drives at a higher price from Best Buy, but I got them in sealed consumer boxes and both were legit.
What the ...?!
Made by anti-Semitic Jew haters. Probably a PLO or ISIS muzzie terrorist organization. I am not surprised that Seattle based Amazon, a leftist, commie, homo supporting city of puke and stink is behind crap like this. I worked downtown for 15 years until my wife could finally retire from her job and we hit the road for my home state of Alabama. I was there during that uprising of the WTO several years ago. I was walking to work when a few of them stopped me on the street and asked where I was going. I asked them what business it was of theirs and they said they were protesting the WTO. I told them I did not give a damned who they were protesting, I was walking to work minding my own business, now get the hell out of the way. The lead mouth said, “heeeeeyyyy dude, there are three of us.” I said, yeah? When my Glock says I have you outnumbered, now back the hell off. The entire city was nothing but punks the entire time. Had the entire city shut down and the city government did not give a damn. Leftists supporting radical leftists. Glad to be out of that cesspool.
