Approval of President Donald Trump rose to 34.5 percent among black registered voters in a recent Emerson poll.
The number is notable because only 8 percent of blacks voted for Trump in 2016, according to Cornell University’s Roper Center.
The poll of 1,092 registered voters was conducted Nov. 17–20, partly by automated landline calls and partly online. The same poll taken a month earlier showed approval for Trump’s presidency at 17.8 percent among blacks.
The pollster warns that results for subsets of voters have a higher margin of error than the 2.9 percentage points the poll has as a whole. For black voters, the margin is 8.3 percent, according to Spencer Kimball, assistant professor at Emerson College who oversees the polling.
But there doesn’t seem to be any issue with the data itself that could explain such a significant increase...

Wow, that is borderline unbelievable. No GOP presidential candidate has received those kinds of numbers in 50 years.

I agree. The important thing is that they get out and vote. If they approve but don’t vote, it’s stupid.
Many Blacks will vote for Trump and keep it to themselves.

There are many black women supporting Trump. Candace Owens is a good example. But the numbers are too low.
Does anyone know what Bush 43’s approval was among blacks at this stage?
The 34% is for overall approval. What if they do match-ups between Trump and Mayor Pete (The newest darling of the Left)?

Back in the summer....some poll was released and suggested that around 35-to-40 percent of black males favored Trump over any Democratic candidate. The black female percentage was way down around 10-to-15 percent.
Here’s the thing...if these guys showed in heavily black populated states, it destroys the Democratic strategy ahead (not just 2020). Same type of figures exist for Latinos.
Rasmussen shows Trump underwater at 44/55 today. So he must be tanking with white voters.

That means the Support could be around 9.5% among blacks, which is fairly standard support folks... to 26.1% which would be insane.
I have no doubt Trump is doing lots of great things and that all American’s are benefiting from them, but people really need to check their reigns on some of these poll numbers around black support.. Usually the sampling is so small that the margin of error, much like this one is HUGE, and when you look at it you find the standard support is within the margin of error.
I expect Trump will do better with black americans in 2020 than he did in 2016, but if you think he’s going to pull 20 or 30% support, you really really need to temper yourselves.
