This report from the OIG first focuses on the FBI's corrupt use of "oconus lures" and the like.

A finding of bureaucratic lapses is a bad omen.

Nobody has ever been prosecuted for a bureaucratic lapse.

I’m hoping that this doesn’t get placed on top of the “they made administrative mistakes” heap pile.

From what I see this amounts to the OIG commenting that the FBI is sloppy in handling its CHS and recommends it become less sloppy. The FBI concurs. Did I miss anything important?

The problem is that an Inspector General’s basic job is to ferret out inefficiencies and problems with process.

This job should have gone to a PROSECUTOR.

If this is indicative of a whitewash, we are through as a nation.

Well, what you have to consider is that we were through as a nation well before this aspect of their conduct was ever known by the public. This may merely be indicative of something that happened well before this time.

It's an IG report. You can sum them all up with: "Mistakes were made."

“Well, what you have to consider is that we were through as a nation well before this aspect of their conduct was ever known by the public. “

If true, then we should have no soldiers on foreign soil or in harms way anywhere. If the nation is done, people cannot be asked to put their lives on the line for it.

"Nobody has ever been prosecuted for a bureaucratic lapse."

Mistakes were made but corrections have already been completed.

Well you know, no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case...

Thanks Steven!

A quick “Find” search of the document did not find the words: “Joseph Mifsud, Carter Page, Steele, Nellie ohr (orr? tryed them both.) It probably will not address a lot of specifics.

A quick scan at the end listed procedural recommendations for the FBI to which the FBI responded “Concur.” I take this to mean that whatever was being done was not done in an appropriate manner and they did not defend their actions.

If there was any issue with a violation of the law it will have to be addressed separatly from this report.

Someone like Dan Bongino will probably discuss thiis report this with a more critical eye at a later time.

(Off to address Today “To Do” list!)

One step at a time.

I would not be surprised if the legal teams for a number of players involved in ongoing cases (Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort, that Russian company facing charges for meddling in the 2016 election, etc.) have legal papers already drawn up demanding testimony from various DOJ people named in this report -- and maybe even the IG himself -- in their respective cases.

Fine, but read the report and tell us which US laws were broken. FBI policies are not law, they are policies. Former FBI management found ways around them or ignored them, but that is grounds for removing those people from the organization, which has been done. If they’d stolen money or property, that would be criminal, but if they ignored some guidelines, that’s a performance management issue that people get fired for. As they have been.

The logical response is to strengthen the guidelines, block loopholes, and put systems in place to ensure that the new policies are followed. This is a proper response to the findings.

This is not the important report, so we should not be discouraged by this report.

Why would you be so eager to give the deep state what it wants?

They want you to be discouraged.

In fact, they have people posting on the internet, spinning narratives exactly like the one you both posted.

You must have believed them. Don’t!

The whole system is broken.

We need a Convention of the States where we can purge the dirty players from every level and review and remove all unconstitutional laws passed.
