Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) signaled that she is open to a universal basic income – an idea that has been championed by fellow presidential contender Andrew Yang (D).
Warren expressed her willingness to consider a UBI, which quite literally amounts to the government handing individuals and families a “basic” income per month regardless of employment or income status, in a Washington Post survey that asked, “Should the federal government pay a universal basic income to every American adult?

Is there anything she won’t give away?
One can always tell a Democrat by noting that they always want to give away other people’s money.
She will probably give everyone a big check for $50,000 or something every year. Of course, everyone will have to pay an extra $60,000 a year in taxes to pay for it.
These people are demented. They want to create a permanent voting underclass.
One of the things our government depended upon was its work ethic. It’s how we got things done. And if you didn’t have a “career”, they had a place for you...food, shelter and clothing....but you also had to work.

Exactly what I was thinking. Answer: No. Her tax on wealth is one of the most dangerous policy changes that she’s offered. Capital is mobile and if withdrawn, it would adversely affect economic growth. Stupid...stupid...idea.
How is her staff paid (government and campaign)?
The dems claim the republicans have moved far right.
To that I say,

“Basic Income”. The biggest wealth redistribution scam in the history of the world. Might sound good to the less educated, the government just hands every citizen $1,000 each month. What they don’t tell you is that to pay for this, you will be taxed an extra $2,000 a month. The only people who will make money on the deal are people who don’t work or work minimum wage part time workers (IE the democrat base). If you hold a steady job and make a good wage, you’re screwed.

All these socialist running and their giveaways is sure making it easy for someone to fly in on her broom and take the nomination away at the convention.
This is what she ought to do: NOBODY gets paid by anybody, incl gov and legislators and supreme court, ds, ceo, etc etc etc. Then what money is in the pot, is divided equally to ALL the people. Then Warren and all her followers will see how ridiculous her ideas are!!!!.....because the country will only last two days, and country will be invaded by China, etc etc etc

Go for it, Liz. Just raise the tax rate on the rich from 100% to 150%. No problem.
It would certainly be preferable to what we have now if it was spending-neutral and replaced all other welfare and “stimulus” spending.
But I doubt that is what she is proposing.
