Nationalized internet...watch out for this in your neighborhood. I see many articles about expanding broadband access in rural areas....these are just means of turning the internet into a public utility so the socialists can monitory every citizen.

introduce new taxes on Silicon Valley tech giants like Apple and Facebook to fund the networks maintenance.Thats mighty nice of them. I wonder if this could cause British firms to be taxed? It seems to me, that any ass hat 🎩 dictator in the world, could figure he could get Americans to pay for his own 3rd world countrys infrastructure, by taxing American companies. I am not a fan of Silicon Valley big tech firms, by any means, but is this a valid point? I dont know enough about it to know for sure. Maybe other Freepers know more about this than I do. 😁

So the government can do to the internet what the NHS has done to health care.
Guess the meme ban and link tax won’t take care of the uppity citizenry fast enough.

Then it’s not free, is it?
It’s being paid for by the tax.
And people are too much idiots to figure this out.

And the number of the Labour Party 'free" broadband internet service will be
666.
The BBC doesn't quite have total mind control, so the socialists will try to control the internet. (Substitute the first 'B' with a 'C' and you've got the same schitt in Kanadahar.)

Careful, Britain—nothing like a big dose of that “full-fiber broadband” to give you a nasty case of cyberrhea.

And they’ll do it just before StarLink renders the tremendous cost obsolete, wasting tens of billions of taxpayer money.

They promise broadband, they will deliver “baudband”...perhaps 56k or so... it’s the socialist way.

British election campaigns traditionally feature batty promises by the parties which quietly vanish once they’re elected. This year there’s a particularly rich crop. The Tories are at it too. There’s been an article by the current Conservative Transport Secretary, promising to reinstate all the small branch train lines which were axed in the notorious ‘Beeching Review’ of the 1960s: this despite the fact that most of them have subsequently been built over.
