When reporting climate-driven human migration, place matters
Science Daily ^ | November 13, 2019 | University of Arizona

<...>

"We were seeing articles in big-name media saying migration from Central America is being driven by climate change and yet, we were looking at these and asking, where is the evidence?" said Kevin Anchukaitis, professor in the School of Geography and Development.

To nail down the reality, a team led by Anchukaitis analyzed 40 years of daily weather records from El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Honduras -- especially the Central American region known as the "Dry Corridor."

"The news media don't have this local connection that this study is providing," Anderson added. "We can now say, 'In one part of Guatemala or this part of Nicaragua, you do see a change in these important features of the Midsummer Drought, but in a lot of other regions where we know a lot of migration is originating, we don't see significant rainfall trends.'"

<...>

Migration is complicated and there are many reasons that people migrate, Anchukaitis added. That doesn't mean that an individual climate event can't have an impact, but there are other driving forces, he said, such as limited land and resources, violence and corruption.

Related science paper: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0962629816301822 The bottom line is "The official UN and Syrian government estimate was that 40–60,000 families migrated from northeast Syria during 2008–09, not the 1.5 or 2 million people that is often claimed. Moreover, given that large-scale migration from northeast Syria predated the drought,..."

In other words you can blame Hussein's "Arab spring" for migration caused by disasters in Syria, Libya, Egypt (until the sane people took it back), etc.

The only climate that’s influencing this migration is the climate of giving free stuff to anybody that can sneak across the border.

How wonderful, a scientific analysis showing the falsehood of the “climate change” migration narrative that is promoted by the MSM. I bet the MSM does not go anywhere close to this. The MSM thinks it is far too important to blame mass migration on “climate” and ignore the reality that migrants are often fleeing the same political and economic conditions that the MSM wants to impose on the US.

Climate change affects the northern latitudes. For most of Earth’s history, tropical conditions existed up to the Arctic circle. Greenland, Canada, and Russia will be great places to farm and live when the earth warms up again. (Nobody talks about the upside of global warming).

PS - relatively speaking, we’re still in an ice age. Ice at the poles is not ‘normal’ for the earth.

Imagine what positive changes could be made to the world with the resources Soros has. Instead he spends it on evil.

Serious question: Are they taking into account all the Americans who retire and move South to someplace warmer?

If not, how would it change their data?

It is a dry corridor. Only drugas grow there.

I’ve mentioned before a National Geographic photo from decades ago, taken from the air, of the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Extending into the distance was a perfect straight line of lush foliage on the left and desert on the right. There was still honest reporting back then, and the author explained how this was caused by Haitians cutting down every tree for firewood - and replanting none. They are the primary “African” country in the Western hemisphere (actively hunting down and killing most whites they caught during the slave revolt 200+ years ago), and now that land that saw its population swell with inflows of white “aid” is now reduced to the barest sustenance - the land has no hope of feeding 10% of the population, since they maintain NOTHING.

I mention this because Caribbean countries have been lumped into the victim class for “climate change”, and yet most live on fertile land with plenty of rainfall, surrounded by oceans teaming with food. Where we supported military governments during the Cold War, those places ran like well-oiled (”white”) machines - whatever issues they had with individual liberties and such. Some have “devolved” since (Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela), and are more and more resembling the ancestral homelands of their black populations (as opposed to the homelands of their European/Creole inhabitants).
