Everytown Spent Record $2.5 Million to Flip Virginia Red to Blue

Democrats in Virginia have a clear path to passing a slate of anti-gun legislation, thanks in large part to Everytown for Gun Safety’s $2.5 million investment in 22 competitive races.

The results of yesterday’s election gave Democrats majorities in both the House and the Senate, and Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam has indicated a willingness to sign whatever gun control bills the legislature cooks up.

“Tonight, the ground has shifted in Virginia government. The voters have spoken, and they have elected landmark Democratic majorities in both the Senate and the House of Delegates,” Northam said in a statement. “[Voters] want us to finally pass commonsense gun safety legislation, so no one has to fear being hurt or killed while at school, at work, or at their place of worship. I look forward to working with our new Democratic majority to make these priorities a reality. Together, we will build a stronger, more inclusive, and more just Commonwealth.”

In a fundraising email obtained by GunsAmerica, Everytown for Gun Safety claims to have been the largest outside investor in the state’s elections. According to CNN, the gun-control group outspent the National Rifle Association 8 to 1 in the state.

The Bloomberg-funded group spent $1.3 million in digital and direct mail ads highlighting Virginia Republican candidate’s opposition to gun control, $538,000 in direct contributions to Democratic candidates, and $270,000 in district by district polling and battleground message testing.

There were millions of out of state dollars spent to oppose the NRA and GOP candidates in Virginia and that unfairly tipped races to Democrats.

They won't. The left, like the Borg for fellow Star Trek fans or the Terminator, will stop at nothing. They are relentless, they never sleep, and they never seem to have a lack of resources or people to push their agenda.

Already they are eyeing Texas. They know they don't have to get everything, just a few strategic states to lock in a majority of electoral votes.

Movie quote from Kyle Reece from the movie "The Terminator", speaking about the killing machine: "Listen. Understand. That Terminator is out there. It can't be reasoned with, it can't be bargained with. It doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear and it absolutely will not stop. Ever. Until you are dead."

>>> What amazes me is the amount of money in non-profits and NGOs that seem to drive their agenda. <<<

A little known Obama legacy are the billions he gave to radically progressive “non-profits”. DOJ settlements were reduced if the defendants “donated” to his chosen friends - among them La Raza. Read:

“What amazes me is the amount of money in non-profits and NGOs that seem to drive their agenda. They seem to have a never ending supply of it.”

Much of it comes from the taxpayer. Consulting fees and grants go directly from government to these organizations. In addition, the organizations are tax exempt so when non-profits engage in profit making activity, the proceeds are not taxed.

If the GOP were interested in fighting at all, the House under Boehner and Ryan would have used the 2010 “Tea Party” election mandate to go through the federal budget line-by-line and eliminate the money flow to leftist organizations. Instead the GOP establishment joined the Democrats in media in going to war against the hand that gave them the House (i.e. the Tea Party). The rest is history.

Prevent out of state money from being uses to steal races from Republicans.

In FR postings so far none have mentioned what voter turnouts were in those states having elections. Any analysis of the results which doesn’t include turnout is worthless when considering the impact on the 2020 potential result.

Does anyone have the percentages of all the people who voted in the conservative towns? Encouraging people to get out the vote could make a difference. Do churches encourage people to vote?

It seems that after Ronald Reagan left the Republican party lost its sense of direction. George HW Bush was a limp rag, Clinton was a corrupt leftist, George W Bush was also directionless like his father and Obama was the commie dream from hell. We have not had a good president for thirty years! And beginning with the Clintons the Democrats are moving more and more to the left.

The CFR was the center for globalism that controlled both the Democrats and the Republicans. Can you name a real conservative CFR member?

I hope that the Trump family becomes the center of the middle class Republican party that will be based on the traditional Constitutional values.

The CFR that controlled our politics since at least the 1950s has been the ruin of our country. Look at what they did to Goldwater.

Notice how many mass shootings have been happening in recent years, couple that with the shocking unheard of attempted coup of the President by the deep state! Bureacrats that thought nothing of framing a President to get him out of office would think nothing of having innocent people shot up just to have the 2nd Amendment destroyed.

That nonprofit NGOs money comes from us the taxpayers. The money is divided up into block grants and then sent out throughout the country. They are coming up with new organizations all the time.

"Again, the high population centers get to control everything."

There is no doubt in my mind that every state needs the same kind of "electoral" system that we use in the Presidential election.. Each county weighted by its population..?? It would apply to anyone running for a state wide office...

Trump still needs to embrace the concept of limited (or smaller) government. After what he has been through the past 3 years, he should be the leading proponent of limited government.
