LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Republican Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin's campaign requested a recanvass of vote totals that show him losing his reelection bid.

His campaign sent a statement Wednesday afternoon saying it is doing so due to the close nature of the gubernatorial race and multiple reports of voting irregularities. “The people of Kentucky deserve a fair and honest election. With reports of irregularities, we are exercising the right to ensure that every lawful vote was counted," Bevin said in a news release.

In a 5 p.m. news conference on Wednesday, Bevin expanded on the irregularities.

Kentucky has had voter fraud in several counties even recently since Bevin has been in office, so I yes he needs to do this.

I hope they find out he won.

There may be vote fraud.

***************

There almost certainly is. The only question is how much?
We all know what Democrats do in tight elections. We’ve seen it countless times.

so we in KY take the state , and win the AG but lose the GOV seat, Nope that does not make sense at all. So we are to believe that voters said I like the republicans for this and that, but will vote for the Dem for Gov!!!!!! Nope not making sense just like in my state where it went republican for all seats, but the Agriculture seat went Dem which happens to issue concealed carry permits out

There may be vote fraud

Of course there was vote fraud. There is always vote fraud when Democrats are running for election. In a close race it is decisive, and the Democrats almost always win in close races.

When there is a margin of less than 0.1 percent between candidates, there is no good way to determine a legitimate winner. A new runoff election should be automatically required. It is unfortunately too late to apply such a remedy after-the-fact.

In this particular case, Republicans should adopt the Democrat tactic of demanding recounts until their candidate is declared the winner.

"In the ’08 campaign, Republican Sen. Norm Coleman was running for re-election against Democrat Al Franken. It was impossibly close; on the morning after the election, after 2.9 million people had voted, Coleman led Franken by 725 votes. Franken and his Democratic allies dispatched an army of lawyers to challenge the results. After the first canvass, Coleman’s lead was down to 206 votes. That was followed by months of wrangling and litigation. In the end, Franken was declared the winner by 312 votes. He was sworn into office in July 2009, eight months after the election. During the controversy a conservative group called Minnesota Majority began to look into claims of voter fraud. Comparing criminal records with voting rolls, the group identified 1,099 felons — all ineligible to vote — who had voted in the Franken-Coleman race." -- Byron York, August 2012

"In November 2015, then-Gov. Steve Beshear (D) signed an executive order restoring the voting rights of more than 100,000 people with felony records in Kentucky. But in December of that year, Beshear’s successor, Gov. Matt Bevin (R), undid the executive order — just as easily taking away from ex-felons what the former governor had given them. Democrat Andy Beshear, the former governor’s son [has promised] is poised to sign another executive order that restores voting rights to at least some people with felony records after they’ve served their sentences — potentially increasing the voter rolls by more than 100,000." - G. Lopez, November 2019
