Edward Carnes, current chief justice of 11th ckt and GOP appointed is going to senior status. He was born in 1950. Andrew Brasher will replace as an active judge on 11th. Also a GOP appointed and RAT appointed judge are also going to senior in three 11th.

When Stanley Marcus is replaced, GOP appointed judges are 7-5 majority which flips another circuit to us.

The next two oldest judges in 11th are RATS, born in 1954 and 1955.

Earlier I said Graham would honor blue slips. So forget the district courts as “open.” Those are all blue slips.

Trump just submitted a big list for the rest.

He has made all needed nominations.

If all Donald Trump did for his legacy was appoint judges, he would be a hero. OTOH, if he were efficient at some of the other stated causes (that DEFICIT!!!!) as he has been in the judiciary, he would be a new George Washington/Thomas Jefferson rolled into one.

Good job, Mr President.

Trump could probably began work on the deficit if he hadn’t been so tied up with the coup. If we can get him elected again maybe he will tackle that quagmire.

If I remember correctly, LS, blue slips makes it harder to get the nominees confirmed. So if Graham is honoring them, the question is why? Did Grassley? Why is Graham slowing Trump’s progress a year before Graham is turning committee back to Grassley?

I think the answer is that Ds honored them under Zero.

According to Zen Master, both parties (in most cases) followed this deference for years.

The new list includes the future star Andrew Brasher for the 11th Circuit.
******************************
The DemocRATS had a conniption when he was being confirmed for his District Court judgeship. I’ll love to see their whining when he goes through the Appeals Court confirmation process.

And Lindsey, he had a background investigation and hearing just last year so there’s no reason you can’t accelerate the confirmation process this time with a simple “update” confirmation.

And you’re right, LS, I think he’ll definitely be a star!

The “total nominees pending” count at the site you linked to is NEVER right. Their are currently 78 Trump nominees pending Senate action. See at below linked site:

That site is always delayed but it is the official Government site.
I also use https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/nominations/judicial and to see which nominees have been brought to the Senate floor I use https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/executive_calendar/xcalv.pdf

Thank you for your link. It’s always good to have another spot to check. Each site is better for some aspect.
