A Clinton family ally reportedly tried to stop the publication of a book about a "deep state" plot to undermine President Trump.
Sidney Blumenthal, who was an outside political adviser to Hillary Clinton, claimed 'investigative journalist Lee Smith's new book was defamatory and sent threatening letters to publisher Center Street, a division of Hachette Book Group, according to a Fox News source.
But the source said the publisher's legal team found the threat to be "meritless," and the book, The Plot Against the President: The True Story of How Congressman Devin Nunes Uncovered the Biggest Political Scandal in U.S. History, was released on Tuesday.
As of Sunday, Blumenthal had not responded to the outlet's request for comment.
he book focuses on the "scandal" that began late July 2016 with the start of the FBI's counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign following a tip from an Australian diplomat about how Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos said the Russians had damaging information on Clinton.
Smith said the investigation, which was later wrapped into former special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation, was a "political operation designed to assist the Clinton campaign" during a Sunday appearance on Fox News' Sunday Morning Futures.

President Obama would not allow it: key White House staffers had grown to detest the man. Two of them—Press Secretary Robert Gibbs and Senior Adviser David Axelrod—threatened to quit if Blumenthal was hired. They believed that he had been involved in spreading unsubstantiated allegations against the Obamas during the 2008 Democratic primary.

Unfortunatly that’s what we all get with the left controlling the msm networks....and they happily consent. However there are a few other resouces we can get better news of the facts...but most are biased one way or the other. And frankly most informed voters like to hang with the resources that support what they do.

Not only did Blumenthal try to destroy Monica Lewinsky, he tried to destroy his best friend, Christopher Hitchens, when he protested against the smearing of an unpaid intern. This “thing” and his progeny are below contempt!
Kit Hitchens was one of the only ones who dared go up against the Clinton Smear Machine.

One key element you left out....twice that Hillary tried to hire Blumenthal for the State Department support staff (second time was as a contractor). The Obama team said no that time as well.
So Sid ended up being hired via the Clinton Foundation (yes, all that volunteer-work business), and he was active on her email server....seeing most everything that she was getting.
