Judge Blocks Trump's Health Insurance Requirement For Immigrants
Townhall ^ | 11/02/2019 | Bronson Stocking

arlier this month, the Trump administration signed a proclamation requiring individuals seeking immigrant visas to show proof of health insurance coverage or the financial means of paying for healthcare before entering the United States. The rule was scheduled to take effect on Sunday, but activists are always able to find a judge willing to block the president. On Sunday, they found him. U.S. District Judge Michael Simon granted a preliminary injunction preventing the rule from taking effect.

The federal lawsuit was filed in Portland, Oregon, and claims the healthcare requirement prevents foreign family members of Americans from moving to the United States to be with their families.

Justice Action Center senior litigator Esther Sung told WQAD News 8 "The ban would separate families and cut two-thirds of green-card-based immigration starting tonight, were the ban not stopped.”

But if two-thirds of green-card-based immigrants have no means of paying for their healthcare, it proves exactly why the Trump administration issued the proclamation in the first place.

The proclamation explains how unfair it is for American taxpayers, already struggling to afford their own healthcare, to be further burdened by immigrants who can't afford their own healthcare.

I couldn’t give a flying #### if “family members from overseas” can’t join their broods in America.

It’s not a RIGHT.

If it is the law, then #### the law, like dems do all the time.

And honest, #### this garbage where judges are running our country.

And no kidding, I don’t care if an illegal kid is having a seizure in front of a hospital, put him on a truck and take him back to Mexico.

Because my good heart and too much compassion are part of what led to all this BULL SH## to being with.

#### em.

Yes, he’s an Obama judge.

We have numerous VACANT District Court judgeships. Perhaps because of the existence of the Blue Slip process for District judges.

LINDSEY GRAHAM needs to get rid of that process which is allowing one or two Senators to extra-Constitutionally VETO Trump District Court nominees IN CRITICAL SPOTS. If we have more Trump judges we’ll have fewer Agendanista decisions such as this one.

It’s time for Trump to defy these nationwide rulings from district courts and demand that SCOTUS rule them unconstitutional.

Simon was born in New York City in 1956. He was the older of two children born to Danny Simon and Arlene Friedman. Simon’s father was a television comedy writer, and his uncle Neil Simon was an acclaimed playwright. Simon earned his Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude in 1978 from the University of California, Los Angeles and his Juris Doctor cum laude in 1981 from Harvard Law School. He is married to Democratic U. first we have to uninsured the insured

second we REQUIRE the newly uninsured to be RE-insured

third to re-insure the newly uninsured they are required to pay more to be insured

forth the extra charges are required so that the original insured who became uninsured and then became re-insured can pay enough extra so that the original uninsured can be insured

all of which are required to pay for the illegals to be insured free of charge...

The Supreme Court needs to address this ability of a single District Court judge to override the Executive powers defined for the President of the USA. If Trump could somehow get that to the Supreme Court, it would help the country in a huge way.

I’m conflicted as to whether this is a good idea or not. It will be very difficult for many, many people who currently live in a foreign country to show that they already have health insurance that functions in America (simply because it isn’t feasible in many cases). Many people in this situation however, would have no problem getting a job with insurance shortly after their arrival to the US. I think the right way to approach this is with enforcing the rule against using public services while on a Green Card. This way, we still protect our resources while giving immigrants the chance to get on their feet. Don’t forget that if a person is getting an I visa it means they have already gone through an insane, extremely strenuous immigration process.

"Public charge has been part of U.S. immigration law for more than 100 years as a ground of inadmissibility and deportation. An individual who is likely at any time to become a public charge is inadmissible to the United States and ineligible to become a legal permanent resident."

Yes, fill the District Court vacancies. In the meantime, how about Turtle getting off his buns and voting on the 9th Circuit nominees who have cleared committee and are waiting a floor vote.

Wanna shut these rogue Obama judges down, turn the Ninth.

This is what has to end. One judge, who isn’t even a Supreme Court judge, should not be allowed to make decisions that negate what’s done by other branches of gov. Who the *ell created a situation where any one judge has more power than the President does? grrr…..
