She is more popular with her party's base than he was with his party's base. Plus she doesn't have to worry about Trump sweeping in and running off with the nomination. Liz isn't popular with African-Americans, but liberal White women love her. Nobody was that loyal to Ted Cruz. He was always second or third choice. Always the sad boy no one loved.
The writer's other analogy, the one he attacks and tries to refute - that Joe Biden is the new Jeb Bush - is closer to the mark (same initials even). Biden won't fold as easily as Jeb did, but it's the same syndrome: lousy campaign, lousy candidate. Whatever advantages Biden has that Bush didn't have are offset by his more frequent gaffes and his scandals. Please clap.
