New York Times Confirms: It’s Trump Versus the Deep State
The American Conservative ^ | October 28, 2019 | ROBERT W. MERRY

Even the Gray Lady admits the president is up against a powerful bureaucracy that wants him sunk..

The New York Times on Thursday published a remarkable piece that essentially acknowledged the existence of an American “deep state” and its implacable hostility to Donald Trump.

...

American foreign policy has become the almost exclusive domain of unelected bureaucrats impervious to the views of elected officials—even presidents—who may harbor outlooks different from their own.

This is a big deal because, even in today’s highly charged political environment, with a sitting president under constant guerrilla attack, few have been willing to acknowledge any such deep state phenomenon.

...

the story of a president who sought to rein in the deep state and a deep state that sought to destroy his presidency.

Baker and his colleagues clearly think the president is on the ropes.

...

Trump and the deep state have been in mortal combat since the beginning of his administration. And the stakes are huge.

...

Trump viewed America’s role in Syria as focused on defeating ISIS, whereas the deep state wanted to continue favoring the overthrow of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

...

can a president—any president—pursue the Trump policy options without being subjected to the powerful yet subtle machinations of a wily bureaucracy bent on preserving its status and outlook?

Even if Trump get reelected, these guys will still be there when he leaves office in Jan 2025. There is an old adage about Civil Service workers. You can’t fire them and you can’t make them work. Great Gig if you can get it.

President Trump is fighting for Americans on many fronts. The Deep State, ISIS, and the “democrats”. He’s pretty busy defending America for us.

Our government is bloated. It’s too big. I wish President Trump would announce a plan to cut 10% of our unelected bureaucrats in every agency.

The NYT’s is a highly discredited rag... I cannot in good conscience believe anything that comes out of it. Sorry. You need to get a more trustworthy source.

Government employees made a deal with the American Taxpayers.

If the American Taxpayers would protect government employees from being fired based on who they voted for, then the government employees would stay out of politics.

The government employees have violated this agreement.

Washington, DC is a cesspool of corruption bought and paid for by taxpayers and lobbyists. The Hunter Biden scam is just one example. The swamp does need to be drained.

Blame JFK, he brought federal government unionization with his executive order. (It ought to be able to be undone by an EO!) Still FedGov is only 21.6% (2016) union. State & local government is far far worse and will be much harder to get rid of. It will require state legislation. Majority of unionized workers are government now but that’s heavily state & local. The real problem with FedGOv is its spotty, lax, indifferent policing of the Hatch Act. GOP administrations pretend to enforce it, Rat administration don’t even pretend.

Yeah, thanks for nuthin’, NY Slimes. We would have never known.

Still wrong tho, it’s Trump, America’s sovereignty and ‘we the people’ who are vs these bastards. And if Trump goes down, they’re coming for the rest of us.

There’s too much use of personality hate Trump preferences as the excuse for quote, impeachment, unquote. It’s a distraction from the real reason. What should be looked into and brought to public attention is the connection to the corruption used by the swamp creatures Trump would put a screeching halt to. And offered as the real reason why democrats are going after Trump.

Partner, we agree but right now we have the Do Nothing Pelousy and the DemonRat majority who will not even lift a pencil or pen to make this correction.

We need to cut down the size of this many employees.

We know this was done to bring America down, but they do not know the size of our non military folks who have arms and ammunition. The Military is on our side.

We have a large number of Democrat government employees who hide behind the protections the American Taxpayers have given them.

While hiding behind this shield, they strike out at Republicans.

The protections given by the American Taxpayers are no longer a shield.

They are a sword that Democrats use to advance their interests.
