Chicago's top cop won't be in attendance when President Donald Trump addresses the International Association of Chiefs of Police at their annual conference in the city next week.
Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said he looks forward "to hosting America's police chiefs and collaborating on the best ways to keep our cities safe in the upcoming week," but he will not hear the president's speech.
"I will not be attending the president’s speech because the values of the people of Chicago are more important than anything the he [sic] would have to say," Johnson said in a statement.
Trump is scheduled to speak at the conference during his visit to Chicago Monday, a White House official confirmed. It is the same conference where Trump made headlines last year for calling for the use of "stop-and-frisk" to combat the city's violence.
There, Trump, who has repeatedly criticized Chicago for its violence, spoke at the IACP's 2018 conference in Florida, announcing he directed the attorney general's office "help straighten out the terrible shooting wave."
"I’ve told them to work with local authorities to try to change the terrible deal the city of Chicago entered into with ACLU, which ties law enforcement’s hands," he said at the time. "And to strongly consider stop-and-frisk. It works, and it was meant for problems like Chicago."
Trump is slated to visit the city Monday for a fundraiser, marking his first visit Chicago as president.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot defended police Superintendent Eddie Johnson’s tenure as Chicago’s top cop on Wednesday, saying “he has sacrificed a tremendous amount for the city” even as a watchdog probes the mysterious incident where police last week found him asleep in his car.
Lightfoot’s defense of Johnson came on the same day the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police posted on its Facebook page that its board of directors had issued a vote of no confidence in the superintendent.
The city’s police inspector general is handling an investigation into last week’s incident in which Johnson was found asleep in his car. The superintendent admitted to Lightfoot that he had “a couple of drinks” before he fell asleep in his car after pulling over when he felt ill, the mayor told the Chicago Sun-Times on Friday.
I would not imagine that the real cops that are there would care that this guy doesn’t show!
Is he/she/them/they* worried about ICE taking him/her/them/they* into custody or something?

Also - Fathead Ed is in a bit of a trick bag. Last week, he was picked up for being asleep at wheel of CPD car. No charges, discipline, just taken home: He admitted a few drinks and blamed interaction with his medication he is taking: Word is he was “toasty” -A lot of white shirts involved in simple traffic stop. Body cams of responding CPD confiscated and guess what first car dash cam is “inoperative”. Thus he is toeing line of SJW Mayor Lightfoot .
Special Ed? The one they just found passed out drunk behind the wheel of a City owned vehicle last week? That Superintendent of Police?

The body-cam video from Special Ed’s incident is leaking out?
The video from 9**R clearly shows #FatHeadEd out cold. Takes a minute to get him up and alert. Only the business officer activates his BWC, and truthfully, I don’t believe either officer knows it’s the Superintendent. When #FatHeadEd wakes up, he’s disoriented and has some difficulty pulling his wallet out of his pocket. He rolls down the window about an inch (typical for the #1 law enforcement officer of the City) to respond to the officers request for his ID (after showing his star). The young officer realizes he’s the Sup, asks if he’s ok and #FatHeadEd replies “yeah”.
Officer walks away and poof #FatHeadEd is gone. CFD was on scene almost immediately. Additional units on scene, including 9** (who followed him to his final destination).
An interesting twist to this debacle is that BIA and the IG waited over 24hrs to attempt to garner the in-car-camera video stored on the cars drives. Somehow, it had all been written over by the time they got to it. I wonder if they got the POD cameras or the restaurant cameras??
