POTUS has very limited options. His own party refuses to substantively support him against a seditious Deep State coup.
In fact it appears the Senate GOP are actively colluding with the Deep State coupists. In particular the Senate intel committee and McConnell in his Gang of 8 role.
The pivot point of Trump’s Presidency was the GOP Senate threatening him not to fire a recused Sessions. That made Rotten Rod defacto AG and two years were lost. Rosenstein oversaw the jailing of Trump supporters and gave top cover to the coupists. The GOP threw the House to the Democrats.
It’s impossible all these events were coincidences. The GOPe are participating members of The Resistance.

But... We have lots of good, strong Conservatives in South Carolina that would be light years better than linda in the Senate.
South Carolina having open primaries is the problem. During the primaries, several people, some much better than linda, will run opposing linda. But on primary voting day the RATS cross over in droves and vote for linda. linda wins the primary and, since SC is a strong red state, goes on the win the election.
The SC legislature is beginning to grow some balls and is making noise about going to closed primaries.
Can't happen soon enough for me and lots of other Republican voters. But until the law is changed, linda has a job for life and she knows it.

Voters who voted in a party's primary, can vote only in the runoff of the same party. Voters who did not vote in the primary, may vote in either party's runoff.
The primary is for Democratic and Republican candidates only. Candidates running unopposed for their Party's nomination will not appear on primary ballots.
Voters may not vote in a political party's runoff if they voted in another political party's primary. However, voters who did not vote in either politicial party's primary may vote in either politicial party's runoff.
A defeated primary candidate may not actively offer or campaign as a write-in candidate for the ensuing election. The use of posters or stickers on the ballot is not permitted. The voting machine provides for a voter to write-in a candidate. Write-in votes are not allowed in primary elections or the election of President or Vice-president.
While the state permits fusion (a candidate may be nominated by multiple parties), if a candidate runs for and looses a primary (of any party), the candidate cannot appear on the November ballot.

Yes, he is up for re-election in 2020. and that POS is from my house district. The last time he ran (2014) all the potential conservative primary opponents suddenly got posh committee chairs in the state legislature. If there was a tough primary, TeamMcConnell would hire sexual accusers like they did in Bama. I doubt that he is beatable here. I hope that changes.

My three top issues are immigration, spending and debt, and judges.
On immigration, Trump has been completely helpless (and, in my opinion, not even trying). His immigration numbers are the same as or worse than the Bush and Obama numbers.
On spending and debt, he is completely helpless.
On Circuit judges, his choices are above average. On District judges, he is a catastrophe - more than 50% of his District nominees got at least 30 Democrat votes!
Finally, from the subjective side, Trump is a pitiful “fighter.”
The Democrats and the MSM do not fear him. They feel nothing but contempt for him. The guy has been in office for 33 months, and he still hasn't thrown even one consequential counter punch.
If it wasn't for Free Republic, Rush, Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Mark Levin, and Judicial Watch, Trump would have been impeached in 2017.
Bottom Line - if Conservatives do not hold Trump's feet to the political fire, who will?

Today we have 13 or so GOP House members openly supporting a seditious coup against a POTUS of their own party by refusing to support a censure of Schiff.
Conservatism hasn’t advanced since Reagan exactly because of nit picking people like you. 30 years of lies from the GOP on “immigration, spending and judges” and you blame Trump for not magically delivering your wish list? Nonsense.
Frankly, we don’t deserve President Trump. Should he not decide to run again I wouldn’t begrudge it at all. No person should have to suffer the abuse and disloyalty he and his family/supporters has had to endure.

I’ve noticed same. We have a conservative POTUS under assault by a treasonous coup supported by his own party and the moaning never stops. Given that it shouldn’t be a surprise conservatism hasn’t advanced since Reagan with “conservatives” like this.
