Workers Say Target's Move To Increase Minimum Wage Has Backfired
Western Journal ^ | 10/20/19 | By Skye Malmberg

The dozens of former and current Target employees interviewed said that less hours have made it difficult or even impossible for them to pay their bills or get health insurance.

“I got that dollar raise but I’m getting $200 less in my paycheck,” said Heather, a employee whose hours were cut from full-time to 20 hours per week. “I have no idea how I’m going to pay rent or buy food.”

Target employees become eligible for health insurance if they average over 30 hours a week. However, a number of employees who were working more than that say they have had their hours scaled back against their will.

So even a woke company like Target abides by laws of basic economics, eh? Instead of retro-fitting their bathrooms for "gender neutrality" why doesn't management pay their workers a "living wage"? /s

$15 per hour x 0.0 hours = $0.00

And again: since when is any business a welfare organization?

It’s not and Target should manage its payroll the way it wants to. But it’s just slightly ironic coming from such a virtue-signalling company.

Thank obama for obama-care. Full time workers are now a liability

They should learn to code. At least that’s what socialists are always saying. Good luck with that.

Right.

There’s a retail store near me (not a Target, but a national chain) that has only ONE full time employee who is not management. And she’s only full time because she’s been there forever and is sort of a quasi manager of something or other.

Target was or is owned by Dayton-Hudson, the company that gave us Sen. Mark Dayton (D-MN).

When it was discovered back in the 1990s that Target was funneling money to Planned Parenthood, the company pulled their support to great cheer from pro-lifers - only to find that they kept giving the money through a foundation they had established.

......aaaaaand you lost your health benefits in the process because the company only considers you a part-time employee now. Nice lobbying, Chickie.

Be careful what you DEMAND...cause you just might get it.
A proper request at raising the wage could have been better negotiated over more time. Target got tired of all the loudmouth picketers making noise in front of their doors.

PUSHING for more money at a ‘Brick and Mortar’ in today’s Amazon economy - WHO could see that as problematic?

Virtually anything you can buy at Target can be ordered off Amazon and delivered the next day (in most cases) with no shipping. Gen Xers and Millennials can order what they need from the comfort of their apartment, their mom’s basement, or their desk module at work and don’t have to Uber to Target to get it.

I used to like Target, the only thing we buy there now is laundry detergent. They are one of the few stores that carry Arm and Hammer additive-free detergent. Due to the $15.00/hr wage, there is a lot fewer people working there. They have gone full homo even making it more irritating to go there.
