"Israel is becoming ungovernable."

I agree and IMHo they've overplayed their hand on several levels the internal political game is only one example.

Now that he’s 70, he should retire and let the country move on. He can’t form a government, and he’s had his time in the sun.

> Israel is becoming ungovernable <

And it will be worse if Israel goes ahead and annexes huge portions of the West Bank. Because then you’d have many more Israeli Arab voters.

David, the exact opposite of all those traits......…

Incompetent -"David may not build a house for my name because he is a man of war and has shed blood" 1 Chr 22:8

Jealous - Commits adultery with Bathsheba

Headstrong and a murderer - Arranges for the death of Uriah.

David was all those things.

What’s the feeling on the ground there?

What is Gantz all about?

David was not incompetent before the sin, only after. He was already old by that time.

God did not allow him to build the temple because he was a man of war, not peace. Solomon had peace from the beginning.

David did gather the materials necessary to build the temple.

Because of David’s sin, he had no peace in his house until the day he died, even having to flee for his life from his own son.

Hmmm. So much that “big win” for Likud and “callin’ it for Bibi right now” and “worst case scenario is a Netanyahu-run minority government” you were confidently claiming would happen when the numbers came in on election day.

Almost all of the heroes of the Bible were flawed (Jesus, and Mary excepted). They were human, and did human things. The message? Forgiveness and redemption.

I can only speak for myself. But Naftali Bennett isn’t going to be the PM, so I’ll settle for Gantz and hope for the best. Military record does not equal right wing, unfortunately. But I don’t think he’s another Ehud Barak.

Solomon had peace from the beginning....but not in the end unlike his dad.

Solomon became an Abomination of Desolation selling out for 666 gold talents per year, strange women, and paganism.

David repented and was spiritual saved, Solomon remained an enmity to God at the time of his death. Something about Jesus (Through David's other son Nathan), taking up cross denying vain glory (Which Solomon developed), and perseverance in that story...

Very real possibility that Gantz will form a minority government, with the Liberman faction and Arabs not a part of it, but cooperating with it to keep out Netanyahu.

Such a government wouldn’t last long, but it would put off another election for a year or two.

Very possible Gantz would abide by his power-sharing agreement with uberLeftist Lapid. PM Lapid. Try that for size!

Its 28 days to form a new government - not 3. Gantz, holding only 44 seats and who has never served in politics, will try to do what Bibi could not. If he cannot, then there will be a new election in the Spring, with Bibi leading the interim government.

The difference:

David was teachable and OBEDIENT.
Saul was not.

More finely:

When confronted with his sin David wept, repented, and cried out to God for mercy.
When confronted with his sin, Saul made excuses and tried to justify it.

Yes, he did, but way into his age.

Solomon was 13 when he took the throne, so the sins committed happened 14 years prior to David’s death................

Huh. I was sure Solomon was 20 when he took the throne. I searched through the Bible and the best I could find was that his son Rheaboam was 41 when he became king, which means he was born a year before Solomon became king, which meant he was conceived two years before. If Solomon were 20 at kingship that'd make him 18 at marriage.

Why do you think Solomon was 13?
