I suggest we reign in Governor Cuomo and his goal of eliminating the use of fossil fuels by 2040. That goal will severely damage New York State's economy and job picture. Remember, if our state is so strict against fossil fuel use and if there are many other states which encourage the use of USA's plentiful fossil fuel reserves, then people and jobs will move out of New York State in droves. If we don't reign in Governor Cuomo and his unreasonable energy goals, we will be leaving our children and grandchildren, a state not worth living in. As evidence, see the following Kingston Freeman interview with Central Hudson executives, who confirm the above dire status.

So the nuts no longer consider Natural Gas renewable energy?

Next they will have to come up with a way to stop natural gas from forming.

They really are insane.

Don't worry. They don't mean it.

The whole thing is ridiculous.

And here in NYS, we're turning precious farmlands into solar farms...not to serve the community they're built in....but just to be added to the grid.

Cuomo and the other Idiots think they’ll still be in charge in 2040

I’m curious about something that the article does not address. How does that law work? Does it set incremental goals? Maybe like carbon emissions must be reduced by 5% a year, every year?

Or does it just say that * boom! * when 2050 comes there must be zero carbon emissions? Because if it’s the latter case, the whole thing is just more silly leftist posturing.

an interim target: 40 percent reductions from 1990 emissions by 2030.)

The NY State Zero Carbon Law is summarized in the following article.

Yup, I really hope that the libidiots in NY take over the natural gas companies.

We can then sit back and realize our greatest wish for the NE: watching the b*stards freeze to death in the dark.

I assume there are some big Wiring Cables feeding Electricity to Manhattan Island. It would be a shame if something happened to them.

They should build a Nuclear Power Plant in the middle of Central Park if they want to have Zero Carbon Emissions.

"And here in NYS, we're turning precious farmlands into solar farms...not to serve the community they're built in....but just to be added to the grid."

Why farmland?? Surely there are south-facing hills that are too steep to farm that would be suitable for solar panels.

"Start gathering wood now you Empire Staters and beat the rush"

Paternal family lives in rural New York, has heated with wood for generations, and still does. One of the big late summer/early fall tasks is getting the drying wood cut last year split and stacked for winter.
