Former President George W. Bush, who led the United States into war across the Middle East, attacked President Trump on Wednesday night, saying U.S. intervention is necessary “for the sake of peace” around the globe.
During a panel alongside former President Bill Clinton at the Nir School of the Heart, Bush laid into Trump for his recent decision to withdraw up to 1,000 American troops from northeast Syria — fulfilling his longheld campaign promise to bring troops home after more than a decade of war.
“An isolationist United States is destabilizing around the world,” Bush said, according to the Washington Post‘s Josh Rogin. “We are becoming isolationist and that’s dangerous for the sake of peace.”

His foreign and military advisers dropped us into a never-ending war in the Mideast that didn’t need to be started. All we had to do was partition Iraq, leave Saddam in place, and we would have had far fewer casualties on all sides. Sorry GW, wrong then, wrong now.

What is the vital US Security interest involved in the US giving the Kurd’s a US backed military shield to hide behind while they continue their separatists attacks on the internationally recognized Governments of Iran, Iraq and Turkey?

Frankly I prefer Trump’s return to the pre Bush family traditional US policy. Bush the 1st made a massive mistake ending our “Over the Horizon” posture in the ME. By failing to decisively win Desert Storm in 1991 Bush locked us in a full body hug with the Middle East tar-baby ever since.
It is time the USA start figuring out how to pry ourselves off that mess. Like the Border Crisis Congress’s complete lack of any responsible action over Obama/Clinton/Biden/McCain’s misguided adventure in Syria required the President to take action.
From the man who refused to secure America’s borders and tried to make citizens of illegal aliens, many of them dangerous people.
