Congressman Elijah E. Cummings (MD-07) died early Thursday morning due to complications concerning longstanding health challenges, according to a statement from his office.

I’m not going to badmouth the dead. I’m just hoping that he had enough time to repent and get right with the LORD. I heard today that he was raised in a Christian home, which most likely included parents who prayed diligently for the salvation of their children. I am of the belief that those prayers are answered, since the Bible promises, in several places, that when we pray according to God’s will, He gives us those things about which we pray. And we know that it is His will that everyone be saved. 1 Timothy 2:1-8. See also, John, chapters 14-16.
I imagine him standing before God, and hearing “You got some splainin to do, son!!”
One wonders if his death will change the charges against his wife.

Trump exacerbated his health condition by calling him out on his failures to the people of Baltimore. Poor old thing died of the stress from that. /s

That’s all I can say, too, that God comforts his family in their grief. Sadly, his years here on earth were wasted with racism, hatred, ignorance and avarice. Wasted opportunities, because I am not sure there was any talent in the man, or I would say wasted talent.

Health complications is a pretty broad category. A 30-06 center of mass shot could be diagnosed as a sudden loss of blood pressure.

On a cold day, if I go to a Wendy’s, I have a baked potato, put some butter or margarine on it and then dump one of their servings of chili on that.

I generally agree with that with the caveat that Salvation is still a personal decision. God DOES seem to intervene. I’ve experienced it myself multiple times.
You may be correct. When the Lord God calls a man to His purpose, woe to that man’s enemies.
