Twitter will prevent users from retweeting world leaders who break its rules

Twitter will restrict how users can interact with tweets from world leaders who violate its rules.

The social media company led by CEO Jack Dorsey said in a Tuesday blog post that it will not allow users to like, reply, share or retweet offending tweets, but it will let users quote-tweet them so they can still express their own opinions.

The San Francisco-based company has faced a backlash from critics over its hateful conduct and content moderation policies. Some organizations and users believe it should subject the tweets of leaders like President Trump to the same standards as everyone else on the platform.

Twitter listed several areas that will result in enforcement action, even if the account involved is a public figure: promotion of terrorism; clear and direct threats of violence against an individual; posting private information; posting or sharing intimate photos or videos of someone that were produced or shared without consent; engaging in behaviors related to child sexual exploitation; and encouraging or promoting self-harm.

In cases involving a world leader, the company said that it will "err on the side of leaving the content up if there is a clear public interest in doing so."

...

Trump hasn’t violated any of those.

Garbage article from Fox.

World leaders huh? Well that makes the democrats safe from the new rule, not a world leader among them, not since JFK and he was marginal.

They have been looking for an excuse to ban Trump, but so far they don’t dare.

He should be looking for another platform. If he moved, Twitter’s business would be cut in half.

Gee, what is the “over and under” on Twitter ignoring hateful tweets from Democrats?

Twitter only matters because the TV “news” treats Twitter comments as if they are news. If coverage shifts to another medium Twitter would collapse.

I used to care about the constitution but now I don’t. It’s smart but look where it leads a nation. The constitution isn’t even standing in the way of its own dissolution. Think about that.

Anyhow, right now it should be ignored, not with arms but with the same emergency mindset as permitted under martial for example. (I’m not referencing martial law, I’m referencing an emergency situation.) I do not care if FFJD has the right.. that it’s technically it’s constitutional.

He’s censoring public debate. He is eroding our freedom. He must stop.

Folks this is just the beginning. I have been on record for sometime in stating the obvious. As we get closer to election day Twitter will not just delete reTweets of President Trump. They will delete President Trump‘s tweets. Period.

Along with anyone and everyone who even dares to tweet a pro conservative thought or opinion.

Twitter and Facebook, along with Google will hand Hillary Clinton the election in 2020. And she won’t even have to campaign. Click my screen name for further clarification

I put up with Twitter for access to Trump tweets. When put in Twitter jail for the second time for defending myself, I told them to shove their conservative censorship. I think they’ll ban Trump as their September or October surprise next year. Being muzzled those last sixty days will give Twitter the most pro leftist bang for the buck.

There is no other platform. Social media is a cartel and is engaging in censorship as such. Even if there was an alternative, the banking sector would freeze out the platform until they went bankrupt. It’s been tried, and failed.

There needs to be an Internet Bill of Rights, or else the march of deplatforming will continue until the only opinions allowed are whatever the Intelligentsia say is acceptable.

Just take away the exemption, Twitter isn’t even pretending to act like a neutral platform.
