The UK government must tell the public small, easy changes will not be enough to tackle climate change, warn experts.
Researchers from Imperial College London say we must eat less meat and dairy, swap cars for bikes, take fewer flights, and ditch gas boilers at home.
The report, seen by BBC Panorama , has been prepared for the Committee on Climate Change, which advises ministers how to cut the UK's carbon footprint.
It says an upheaval in our lifestyles is the only way to meet targets.
The government has passed a law obliging the country to cut carbon emissions to net zero by 2050.
It is "going further and faster than any other developed nation to protect the planet for future generations", a government spokesperson told BBC Panorama. "If we can go faster, we will."

It’s I believe, a part of the end times and the mark of the beast- one world government controlling all energy, and not allowing anyone to get energy UNLESS they take the mark of the beast eventually-
Think about it- you’re starving, you have no heat for below zero winter months, you can’t drive a vehicle, can’t cook, no electricity UNLESS you take the mark- then the gov will dole out rations of energy, electricity, fuel for vehicles, heating fuel, etc-
Prices for EVERYTHING will skyrocket because of the massive expenses associated with just transporting products to shelves and market places
It is my belief that ‘Man Caused climate change’ lie will be the excuse to control energy and cripple the world to the point of having to either keep resisting the mark, or taking it and having the ‘luxuries’ we now have and can afford-
