President Donald Trump said in a tweet Friday that acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan is stepping down.
Trump in his tweet congratulated McAleenan on a “job well done” and said he would be announcing a new acting secretary next week. He added that there were “many wonderful candidates.”
“Kevin McAleenan has done an outstanding job as Acting Secretary of Homeland Security. We have worked well together with Border Crossings being way down. Kevin now, after many years in Government, wants to spend more time with his family and go to the private sector,” Trump tweeted.

His interview with the Washington Post did him in. He publicly said he doesn’t like the way Trump handles immigration, so he was on his way out from then.

Yes, at Georgetown. If he and his people can’t control a bunch of soy weenies, how’s he gonna secure the country? I’m thinking a guy like Duterte would be effective.
He also designated white people (nationalists) as a designated terrorist threat. But not Antifa, of course - the people who assault old men at Trump rallies.
Maybe someday Trump will stop hiring these people.
I though McAleenan got blamed for leaking the timing of ICE raids earlier this year.
