U.S. Ambassador: Some PGO officials "openly and aggressively undermine reform" [Flashback]

“Rather than supporting Ukraine’s reforms and working to root out corruption, corrupt actors within the Prosecutor General’s office are making things worse by openly and aggressively undermining reform,” said Geoffrey Pyatt, according to the website of the U.S. Embassy to Ukraine. Pyatt noted that “these bad actors regularly hinder efforts to investigate and prosecute corrupt officials within the Prosecutor General’s Office. They intimidate and obstruct the efforts of those working honestly on reform initiatives within that same office.”

At the same time, the U.S. Ambassador praised the work of the newly-established Inspector General’s office in the PGO led by David Sakvarelidze and Vitaliy Kasko. “Their investigations into corruption within the PGO, have delivered important arrests and have sent the signal that those who abuse their official positions as prosecutors will be investigated and prosecuted,” Pyatt said.

...

“We want to work with Prosecutor General Shokin so the PGO is leading the fight against corruption,” said Pyatt.

That's the US Ambassador in September 2015, less than six months before Biden got Shokin fired and supposedly during the time that the whole world was clamboring for Shokin's removal.

Then, within weeks of Shokin being fired, Pyatt was removed (fired if you will) from his job as Ambassador to Ukraine, and moved to Greece, as our Ambassador there. He was replaced in Ukraine with Marie Yovanovitch, who was much more supportive of Biden, Burisma, and the oligarchs.

Let this sink in. Every single article about Shokin’s firing says something along the lines of:

“Several international leaders, including senior officials at International Monetary Fund, have criticized the prosecutor and said Biden’s recommendation was justified.” (from ABC News)

But it began to bother me that none of these legion “international leaders” or “senior officials” have names. SO I started looking for any single one “international leader” with a name who actually criticized Shokin BEFORE Biden got him fired.

And so far I have found exactly zero. Every single article that says Christine Laguarde or someone criticized him links to an article where she criticized Ukrainian corruption generally.

The closest I have gotten is this totally misrepresented speech by the US ambassador in Sept 2015, which was falsely characterized by the Wall Street Journal as follows:

In a speech in 2015, the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt, called the Ukrainian prosecutor “an obstacle” to anticorruption efforts, and mentioned the U.K. case, which he said led to the escape of illicit assets.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/bidens-anticorruption-effort-in-ukraine-overlapped-with-sons-work-in-country-11569189782

But in fact the Ambassador criticized elements within the prosecutors office, and then complimented others, including the folowing:

Shokin signed a decree on September 22 establishing a special anticorruption department within the Prosecutor-General’s Office.

Pyatt urged the audience to “speak up in support of these brave investigators and prosecutors” leading this department, who “have delivered important arrests and have sent the signal that those who abuse their official positions as prosecutors will be investigated and prosecuted.”

And then this:

“We want to work with Prosecutor General Shokin so the PGO is leading the fight against corruption,” said Pyatt.

Looks like i was taken down early 2017. Removed no doubt by Ambassador Yovanovitch and her minions. It would seem the picture coming into focus, is that history is being rewritten to support Shokin's firing and cover up historical and ongoing corruption surrounding Ukraine, the Obama administration and other actors. Part of that is Obama handpicking and implanting corrupt diplomats into the Ukraine Embassy to ensure he and his cohorts got a slice of the pie.
