The Trump administration owes the United Nations about $1 billion in payments at a time when the multilateral organization said it is facing its "worst cash crisis" in a decade, USA Today reports.
The U.S. owes $381 million in back payments and $674 million for 2019. Of the $1.3 billion owed to the U.N. by member states, the U.S. is responsible for more than $1 billion.
U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres sent a letter to member states on Tuesday calling the current situation the "worst cash crisis facing the United Nations in nearly a decade."
Stéphane Dujarric, a spokesman for Guterres, said the U.N. "runs the risk of depleting its liquidity reserves by the end of the month and defaulting on payments to staff and vendors."
"The Secretariat could face a default on salaries and payments for goods and services by the end of November unless more member states pay their budget dues in full," Dujarric said in a statement.

Now they know how the U.S. feels when all the other countries stiff them.
F*** the UN.
“The U.S. owes $381 million in back payments and $674 million for 2019.”
Divert it to the border wall. That’d drive the libs insane...well further insane.
UN OUT OF US, US OUT OF UN
LOL. Trump has made it clear other nations are stiffing us on the bill. I love how he is handling this. “Never let a crisis go to waste”.
Great job Mr. President. Amazing man. I would be tempted to make him King for life. We could sure use someone like him after his 2nd term ends.
I notice they didnt mention how far in arrears other member countries are.

The dog ate my wallet. hee hee.
Dang, It must have gotten lost. Let’s see, if it doesn’t arrive in the next 4 weeks please come back and file a complaint and we will see what we can do...
However, in 2017 the U.S. paid 10 billion on an assessed amount due of 3.5 billion. So we paid 7 billion more than we needed to.

What?! We are in debt. I don’t think throwing $7 billion into that money pit is a good use of taxpayer money.
Everywhere President Trump has looked has so much that needs to be cleaned up. I’m glad now it’s the turn of the UN welfare payments.
It’s my understanding that the UN is a sovereign state like the Vatican, meaning they own the land and building independent of the USA. Am I wrong? I hope so.
Theres a separate UN pension organization. UN staff from all agencies contribute 7% (IIRC) which is matched by the organization they work for. Vesting takes 15 years, which only a small percentage reach. Partial vesting takes 5 years, I think. So those who get pensions are subsidized by the massive contributions paid by the organizations for those with no vesting or partial vesting. Now, the organizations dont really pay the retirement, but whatever nation funds them, such as USA.
Id estimate 3% to 5% of the billion supposedly owed will go to the pension fund.
This is great news. I hope the electricity, water, natural gas, and garbage services are all cut off. Maybe the building can be put up for sale and all the grifter delegates moved to a makeshift building in Harare.
Whoa...thanks for the info
So - how much do all the other nations owe? Love that President Trump also keeps promises about not paying more than our fair share - especially when others pay even less.
Egg-zactly!
