As effective as “a day without a Mexican” day 12-13 years ago. It was to show America how we couldn’t possibly get along without them.
I was having an addition put on my house at the time. One day, “Juan” didn’t show up. I asked Jimmy where he was. Jimmy said, “oh today is a day without a Mexican day so he took off”. The rest of the crew were picking up the slack for Juan and slowed things down, which cost me.
I called the Project Manager, Ed and told him “Tell Juan to enjoy his day off as he’s not working on my house any longer. Get somebody who wants to work to replace him. He’s fired”.
Yeah. Juan taught me a lesson huh?
He found out that he wasn't the only Juan.
