Greta Thunberg joined a large crowd of young people skipping school in Iowa City, Iowa for a climate change protest on Friday, where she declared the recent United Nation’s action summit on climate change a flop.
The summit, which ran in conjunction with the U.N.’s annual General Assembly meeting, featured Thunberg and other youth speakers.
“We told world leaders to act on the science,” Thunberg, 16, said at the protest inspired by the Fridays for Future school walkout she started a little over a year ago in her homeland Sweden. “And we demanded a safe future for us and for everyone.”

I really don’t blame Thunberg here. True science requires you to examine all possibilities, and to keep an open mind. True science encourages endless debate. True science is never settled.
But Thunberg is not told any of that. She is being fed only one side of the story. In many respects she is merely an innocent stooge, just another victim of a relentless propaganda machine.

What does a 16 year old halftard know about the “science”? She so much as taken algebra? Calculus? Diff Eq? Finite element analysis? Chemistry? Physics? Thermodynamics? Fluid Mechanics? Advanced Modeling and computer programming? She doesn’t know how much she doesn’t know to have even basic knowledge to even begin to evaluate the so called climate models, and they are models programmed with a million assumptions about things that our best scientists have hazy understanding of at best. Our climate is a nonlinear chaotic systen and is mostly driven by ocean cycles. The ocean recives the vast majority of energy from the sun and is not heated by the atmosphere and contains several orders of magnitude more energy than the air. Greenhouse theory assumes heat transfer of infrared from the surface is radiative to space and just pretends convection does not exist or humidity or even air density by elevation.

Sadly, the entire climalarky racket is NOT based on true science. Only the desired results are commonly produced/advertised/foisted regardless of the fudge factor used to obtain them.
This is a very angry child. I blame her parents far more than her. She is a child, and they should be guiding and teaching her. Instead they are enabling, promoting and encouraging her mental illness, and I am sure they are making some money doing it. Disgusting.
It’s amazing what kids would go to just to get out of school. Turdburg is too stupid to understand this. How dare she be so idiotic!

This is a disturbed child, being sold a bill of goods, and tasked with reselling it to people not interested in buying. (The true believers have already completed THEIR transactions). The first sentence is definitely true. The ocean cycles respond to solar changes and weather changes (e.g. strength of the trade winds). The second sentence is incomplete. The full energy balance model, whether correct or not, contains convection (they call thermals) which transfers energy from the surface to the atmosphere. It is based on temperature and humidity. It also contains latent heat transfer which does the same thing.
The important thing about latent heat transfer is it removes about 1/2 of the 80,000 TW deposited on the surface by the sun. As latent heat transfer increases (i.e. increased rainfall) there is global cooling. The rest of the model is radiative, both the greenhouse radiation downward and radation to space.
Climalarky is pretty far down the list of “issues”. Down there with anti 2nd Amendment garbage. Most folks aren’t concerned with either very much.

Right you are. And at least some politicians and scientists must know that. But most of them are cowed into submission. Better to pay lip service to Global Warming than to challenge it, and risk losing your career.
This reminds me of an article I read years ago about how physics professors get tenure. String theory was the hot topic at the time. But there wasn’t (and still isn’t) any experimental evidence to back it up.
Well, said the article, if you’re a physics professor and you want tenure, be very careful what you say. You had better tell the tenure committee that you believe in string theory, even if you don’t. Because nonbelievers won’t be given tenure.

Yes, I can see it now, Greta will be so despondent about having ‘no future’ that she will have no other choice than to commit suicide. ‘They’ will say “she calls from the grave!” saying “you made me kill myself!.. you stole my life!” Saint Greta will be the first of many ‘Palestinian’ type martyrs that have their faces painted on the sides of buildings and city buses.

Young Greta Thunberg has correctly stated the case that the UN Climate Action Summit was a failure, but then, it was doomed to fail anyway. The members of the Summit have not yet even determined what factors actually do affect the climate, and the degree to which those factors, even if once identified, could be changed by any action, individually or collectively, by mere human beings.
The entire ecosystem of the earth is terribly hard to change in one direction or another by any means yet devised by mankind. Just the sheer volume of the various factors of the biosphere (ocean and other surface waters, land surface, and atmosphere) prevent the actions of humanity from changing more than only a very small point in the whole balance of things, and the homeostatic nature of the interacting systems probably negates even that small point source altogether.
Carbon, in and of itself, is neither good or bad. In fact, it makes up a major portion of ALL living things, and one of its forms as carbon dioxide, is as essential to life as the element oxygen itself. Free oxygen in the atmosphere could not exist without the presence of green growing plants continuously replenishing that highly reactive element by reducing carbon dioxide.
Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. It is the most essential of all plant foods.
A miracle that escapes the perception of many.

What does it mean to live off the grid?
