When the FBI released its 2018 Crime Statistics on Monday, the silence from the anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment mainstream media was deafening. The Washington Post and the New York Times gave the report short shrift, while the Wall Street Journal ignored it altogether.
Apparently the mainstream media isn’t interested in listening to facts and data that contradict their preconceived ideology: More guns equal more gun violence.
According to the FBI, exactly the opposite is happening, and has been happening for years: The number of violent crimes committed in the United States continues to drop. Said the report, “In 2018, violent crime was down 3.3 percent from the 2017 number. Property crimes also dropped 6.3 percent, marking the 16th consecutive year [that] these offenses declined.”
In addition, reported the FBI, robbery offenses fell 12 percent, murder and nonnegligent manslaughter offenses fell 6.2 percent, burglaries dropped 11.9 percent, larceny-thefts decreased by 5.4 percent, and motor vehicle thefts were down 3.1 percent.
The Washington Post skimmed the headlines in its short coverage, reluctantly adding that “even in 2015 and 2016 crime remained at historical lows” while the New York Times admitted in its brief coverage that “the decline in overall crime continues a decade-long trend.”

Watch TV news and all one sees is murders, assaults and kidnappings. I do not believe violent crime is decreasing.
Don’t watch Fox - quit several years ago when Gutless (Gutfeld) ridiculed two pilots over supposedly going to sleep when they hadn’t; he comes out wearing a pilots hat acting sleepy staggering around. A clear case of running with something before the truth was learned. That and how they’ve gone to the dark side. I guess they want to be liked by the liberal left.
I don’t bother with Fox much these days either. 85% of FNC is full of Liberal BS thanks to the owners who are Libs. Really too bad.
I record Hannity and fast forward thru the parts I don’t want to hear & thru the endless commercials.

I don’t even like Hannity anymore; the way he treated guests and when he was on that panel - it was all me me me, would let someone completely answer a question before he went barging in.
The BEST at allowing a guest to talk uninterrupted seems to be TUCKER CARLSON.
On the off occasion I listen to Rush, he does the same thing. Let’s the caller state his/her case without interruption. The other hate spit slinging person is Tingles although I do not listen to him just read about his rantings on Breitbart or Newsbusters.
