One’s fondness for large predators varies proportionally with distance.

I suggest a Catch-and-Release program to deposit the bears in Downtown Seattle. That would change public opinion almost instantly!

If you are in bear country, it’s best if your caliber starts with a “4”. ;o)

When you are hunting in Grizzly territory a 9mm is just not the caliber to stake your life on, even if you have time.

Glad they survived but I bet if they go hunting there again they will have a tad more firepower.

Re-establish them in New York City, Boston and DC.

Hell, the average “environmentalist” (take off the “environ”) couldn’t tell the difference between a grizzly and a blonde-phase black bear.

but every time it passes, “environmentalists” get an injunction from a federal judge

People aren't supposed to be in the boonies hassling the critters. People are supposed to be in cities. /s

This "Dirty Harry" edition is chambered in 44mag. Quoting DH: "...the most powerful handgun cartridge in the world. It'll blow your head clean off."

Of course, many more powerful HG cartridges have emerged since then: 45 Casul, 460 Ruger, 480 Ruger, 500 S&W. But the 44mag is the most punishing cartridge I care to shoot in an HG.

When I'm out walking with my Sheltie he senses anything that comes within a hundred feet.

If you're headed to bear country you better bring a back-up Sheltie. Or two or three.

In the Gravellies that's called bait.
