Zelensky was told that he had told Cruise about his own experience in the cinema and about the new legislation on compensation to foreign producers who make films in Ukraine.

I thought Cruz’s best role was the movie producer in Tropic Thunder. He’s kinda weird with the Scientology thing but maybe he’s a Trump supporter. When I think about all the Hollyweird actors and actresses being hysterically anti Trump they have to be coached. I don’t think they have an independent thought about anything. They are so scripted dependent.

Right after The Color of Money, he talked about Paul Newman opening his eyes about politics, regretting making Top Gun, wanting to make movies like Born on the Fourth of July, blah blah blah. Somewhere along the line, he figured out that keeping your mouth shut about politics is good for business, so you don’t hear much of that from him now. And he made Top Gun Part Deux.

I don’t think he’s especially a Trump supporter, but Eastern European countries often make good filming locations for outdoor shots because they are not as heavily developed as the US. Also, it costs a lot less to get extras, pay living expenses while filming, etc. The countries like it because they don’t have to Invest a lot themselves to make money on it.
I don’t see how the press could possibly imply that Trump had anything to do with this or that there’s anything suspect about it. But then, the press will say anything that crosses its crazy mind.

keev is the Ukrainian pronunciation. Kiev is the Russian pronunciation. Like how people say Porto Rico or Pwerto Rico here. It shows your wokeness.
In the intel world, we have this ‘slate’ that we use to categorize the reliability of the person telling us the story, and the story itself. With HUMINT, which is what this character used...he avoids scoring the reliability or the testing of the intelligence collected.
He more or less wants you to believe it’s a top scores in both groups. My take is that this is a young guy....maybe between 25 and 35. He has no background on HUMINT, and avoids scoring the reliability entirely.

I’d bet 5 bucks that you haven’t seen Collateral where he plays an assassin only second to Leon in The Professional. Or Vanilla Sky where he plays a disfigured, pathetic playboy. Or Edge of Tomorrow where he plays a coward forced into military service. Don’t know why so many men have a hard time admitting that Cruise is actually a very good actor.
Yeah, I was surprised that Cruise was the tallest man in the room.
