In tacit recognition that his party will never beat the President in 2020 with the gang of whackos vying to head their ticket and that no real impeachment will ever occur, Congressman Adam Schiff, with the acquiescence of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, called to order what they are calling an “impeachment inquiry.” It’s presumably designed to see whether formal impeachment proceedings should begin. (Impeachment proceedings cannot take place without a vote to do so in the House. Vulnerable Democrats would never vote for it any more than would almost all Republican Congressmen. And conviction and removal from office for impeachment would have to occur after a full hearing and two-thirds vote in the Senate. Which also will not happen. The Democrats, again, are counting on the civics and Constitutional ignorance of their base.) It flopped, in any event. The hearings, in fact, show that this is simply the rerun of the Russian Collusion scam. Only the name of the country has changed -- this time, it’s Ukraine; a country you may know is a major enemy of the Russians.

They voted 364 to 58 to kill impeachment on Dec. 6, 2017.
They voted to kill impeachment again on July 17, 2019 by 332 to 95.
I do not recall the first vote even being reported, and the second one was reported for maybe a day or two before the story was quashed.
Yet the inquiry moves forward, on what is clearly a frame up.

McCarthy essentially gave the democrats the ability by proposing a resolution to disapprove the Speakers action to initiate an impeachment inquiry. It was tabled 222-184 and is essentially the opposite of voting on impeachment. Because of this action by McCarthy, Nancy “deems” impeachment to be approved with out taking an actual vote on an impeachment resolution. I would say that McCarthy is assiting Pelosi (while acting otherwise) in getting this moved forward without the actual vote.
This will force Democrats to commit to impeachment in a bloodless Democrat death pact.
Each and every Democrat will have to face 2020 voters with an impeachment millstone tied around their necks.
I just love it....kinda like when all the Dems blithely set sail on Obama's ACA Death Ship...some 32 were "lost as sea" (at election time).
Schiff’s reading into the Congressional Record, his stupid version of the Trump/Ukraine telephone call......which Schiff called a “parody”......is reminiscent of banana republic courts.
In Woody Allen’s “Banana’s” classic courtroom scene, Mellish (Allen) tries to defend himself from a series of incriminating witnesses, including a reigning Miss America and a middle-aged African-American woman claiming to be J. Edgar Hoover in disguise.
One of the witnesses does provide testimony favorable to Mellish, but the court clerk, when asked to read back the testimony, replies with an entirely different, wholly unfavorable rendition.
