Why drain the whole swamp when you can just eradicate the giant invasive rats?
Rep. Josh Harder, a California Democrat, brought a dead nutria commonly referred to as a swamp rat to a congressional hearing this week as he sought support for a bill that would direct $7 million to help eradicate the invasive rodent species from his state.

Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t report this article to the Admin for a misleading title - it clearly refers to eradicating Leftist Californians who are moving to other states and bringing their Leftist politics with them...and you go and post an article about actual rats (4 legs and a hairless tail). WTF, man? Have you no decency?

Pellet gun rat shootin derby.
Rodents of Unusual Size?
You want to eradicate Nutria? Just tell PETA that they are the new number one choice for pets. PETA believes that the best way to rescue pets is to.............kill them and then throw the carcass in a dumpster..........problem solved.

There’s even bigger ones in DC.
Yes some were, they had a line of higher end fedoras made with Nutria fur felt. Nowadays survivors of that era command a pretty penny.
Don’t know if the current iteration of Stetson still produces Nutria felt hats. I imagine if they do, they’re nowhere near Golden Age quality.
My first though when I saw the headline too.
