I would think he could continue to build the wall with next year’s budget in a CR ...

House Democrats are aiming to finalize all the funding measures at once, waiting for all the bills grouped into minibus packages to be agreed upon before sending them to the White House. That strategy would increase the odds of a complete government shutdown instead of a partial one if no overall agreement is reached on spending legislation.

When the previous partial shutdown began, five of the 12 annual bills had already been signed into law, meaning several federal agencies, including the Defense Department, were unaffected.

“Both parties, however, dislike the prospect of governing on a continuing resolution”

Bullshit. Any opportunity they can take to shirk their responsibilities, congress will take.

They’ve been using these continuing resolutions to govern for the last what?... 12 years?

I asked myself that same question before I posted. For quite a while, they had something going on (I can’t remember the term that was used, off the top of my head) where if they couldn’t pass a budget, there was an automatic formula that kicked in that set the budgets for individual government programs, based on equal adjustment of all budget items. Not sure if that was done by CR, or some other lazy-ass gimmick.

So the Democrats are going to go on record that they would rather shut down the government than allow the President to stop the invasion by illegal aliens. Who do the Democrats represent, American citizens or foreigners? And is not giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States treason?

I think budget sequestration is the term I was searching for.

“Trump’s Wall”

Notice the attempt to cast this as “his” wall; coupled with other characterizations as this is some sort of ego driven sign of excess or narcissistic behavior. See what they’re doing?

Never mind the American people have been literally screaming for almost FIFTY (50) YEARS for government to secure the borders, enforce the laws at every level, local, state and federal. THAT IS THEIR JOB. They took an oath to do this, and other things. In literal fact, this is one of the very few responsibilities that government has.

If they don’t like it, then they need to find another line of work. Same thing with the media. It’s just contrived and cultivated, leaned failure theater all the way down. We’re just supposed to become inured to “open borders” and accept that we, the people, have no say or any influence on any of this stuff. It’s like the weather - people complain, but whatta ya gonna do? This is the natural order of things, and you better get used to it, comrade.

Congress promised to secure the border in 1986 in exchange for amnesty.

Democrats do indeed represent fraudulently documented foreigners and so do Bush League Republicans.
Until the hostile takeover of the GOP by Trump, the citizens had virtually no representation.

If the Democrats are creating government shutdowns either full or partial over the wall in 2020 they may as well just hand the Republicans a house majority.
