Pentagon puts brakes on 3 border barrier projects because of cost
MSN.com ^ | 16 September 2019 | Matthew Choi

The Defense Department is no longer moving forward with three border barrier projects in California and Arizona, according to a court filing Monday. The move is a reversal of an earlier Pentagon authorization for about 20 miles of fencing, lighting and other border infrastructure that would have used $2.5 billion in funds redirected from a counter-drug fund.

Border Wall ping for BeauBo.

I tracked down your Counter Narcotics Pentagon funding story.

It was authorized on August 27.

It was canceled on September 13.

I posted the Politico report here, on this new thread.

Bottom Line...

How many miles of drug money fence completed?

Zero.

I will try to answer your other Comments soon.

Since I am the last immigration hawk at Free Republic who is willing to take on the Always-Trump mob, please understand that I get a lot of mail.

I find it hard to believe the Pentagon stopped a project for cost. This may be a first.

Re: MSN.com

It’s a report from Politico.

MSN purchases and aggregates articles from many different sources - most of them from the Political Left, as you pointed out.

Fake news?

Decided on construction in a lower-cost, higher-need area instead?

Deep state treason?

With today’s America, it’s hard to guess which explanation applies.

Go pound sand

Trump doesn’t control the courts

It isn’t a matter of being always trump.

The courts particularly in California are a petulant pox that need to be eradicated

Yeah that “fake news” thingy is thrown around now every time it’s something we don’t want to read.

We have the courts, the deep state, a lot of congress and a lot of wealthy powerful people against The President and a few good allies.

He’s not gonna win every round.

But he never stays down and he keeps on moving forward and taking the hits and punching back.

THAT’S HOW WINNING IS DONE!!!

Stole that last line from “Rocky Balboa” :)

Don’t disregard the level and degree of pervasive hatred never trumpets have.

Drug money wall? There’s a new rule by the liberals. Their MO is to change the rules during play as they lose.

Here’s what we’re dealing with:

‘A high school cheerleading squad in North Carolina was put on probation Monday for posing with a pro-President Trump banner at a football game’

They’ll have the audacity and the time of day to label people as they see fit

They might stop destroying and just get to work but no. IRC’s come to mind

Yes, this is what as known as malicious compliance. It means the budget bureaucrats in, I suspect the Army Budget Office, were told to use bureaucratic noncompliance by ‘working to rule’ on those projects. It is another shot across the bow from inside the Puzzle Palace to DJT to make it clear a significant part of the higher bureaucracy and general officers want no part of the immigration war. Funds are being reallocated from the civil version of Afghanistan to fund the border wall. Lots of rice bowls are dependent on the ludicrously baroque and dysfunction operation derisively known as ‘the War on Drugs’ and the possibility as the wall goes forward that the military, even in a noncombatant support role , might actually be deployed in the interests of the vast straight, patriotic, hardworking and mostly white middle class is just unacceptable. We have to be taught that the only times and places where the US will send people in harms way and trash the country is somewhere 8-10,000 thousand miles away in some place such as Bhutan or Nagaland that 98 out of 100 middle Americans never heard of, where the conflict is vicious but unintelligible and devoid of any significant, let alone vital US interest.

Why is there a court filing? Since when does the military use the Fed Court when dealing with the Administration?

Related to this.

These cancelled sections of wall were actually ADDITIONAL wall sched to be built with savings realized from costs of previously scheduled wall.

There was a suitbrought against the project by some enviroweenies. My guess is the project was dropped for.now to avoid the litigation.

The 2.5 billion for addit. Wall is intact and the wall IS being built as before.

In any case this is ADDITIONAL wall over and above what was previosly sched and this project was delayed for reasons cited above and not cancelled permanently.

Hi Steve. Grain of salt til Trump answers this report. Thanks for being vigilant. A dirty job someone ought to do. Trump is a fighter plus a builder who likes to negotiate cost. This may be a fun story in the end.

I agree but MSN has their issues. There is a huge propaganda tilt on that site much more than others. There is no place to provide comments and debate on anything they have.

Surprise surprise.

When the dipshits in DC are involved in anything, the cost will go out the roof.

I find it hard to believe the Pentagon stopped a project for cost.

Just the excuse. Real reason is someone told them to pull the plug.

So much for border security. Smoke and mirrors
