Amazon-owned Whole Foods will be withdrawing medical benefits for hundreds of its part-time workers starting Jan. 1, 2020, the company said Thursday.

In the past, employees needed to work at least 20 hours a week to buy into the health-care plan. Now they will need to work at least 30 hours. Less than 2% of its workforce, or 1,900 employees, will no longer be eligible for medical coverage, under the new policy, the company said.

Amazon wants a serf slave state while Bezos lives like a king.

No wonder people are voting democrat and socialism.

Republicans really dropped the ball on the health insurance issue. Should of came up with a better free market health insurance plan. They had sample opportunity

People can no longer pay for health insurance.

My wife and I pay $1540 per month for $7500 deductible each, just us two, and while we can afford it most people cannot.

My wifes friend pays close to $2300 month for their family plan. That is insane.

Oh did I mention we only have two plans to pick from in my county?

If I remember right Whole Foods had a pretty noteworthy health plan. Read about it years ago.

Way to go, Jeffy!

FTA....

...The news was first reported by Business Insider.

“In order to better meet the needs of our business and create a more equitable and efficient scheduling model, we are moving to a single-tier part-time structure,” a company spokesperson said in an email. “We are providing Team Members with resources to find alternative healthcare coverage options, or to explore full-time, healthcare-eligible positions starting at 30 hours per week. All Whole Foods Market Team Members continue to receive employment benefits including a 20% in-store discount.”

So, are these 30 hr/week jobs still with Whole Foods/Amazon?

Also....will some 20 hr/week employees lose their EBT/*assistance* $$ if they work more than 20 hours/week? Can’t have that, Jeff. /s

The ruling elite republicans are no different than Bezos. They are living like kings while the rest of us are living like serfs. This is precisely why they didn’t come up with a solution while they had all three branches.

Who has ever heard of a part-time job that did not provide health care benefits? These part-time Whole Food employees will simply quit and easily find a part-time job with full health care benefits.

Naked, unspeakable greed.
Bezos is the richest person who ever lived and cannot afford to pay health care premiums?
