I haven't set foot in a walmart in over 11 years, and I don't have any open carry holsters.

If I lived in the States, and could make the same claims, or had a wife that was continually forcing me into Walmart, I’d consider picking up an open carry holster.

Win-win

It’s their right. Carry concealed and avoid the problems.

Here is the shirt I talked about when I posted a previous video.

Everyone needs to get one! I'm getting two.

Having sat in the boardroom of a multinational company while decisions are made, I can tell you the first question asked is, what is our liability? Most likely this was considered from the liability perspective more than from the virtue signaling perspective. Also, emptying a store for an hour fost them a lot of lost profit as well as a lot of bad publicity.

just out of curiosity, can they compel you to sign that paper? I would refuse to sign anything. Leave yes, but I’m not signing anything.

What’s the etiquette on that? If you’re banned from Great Wall Mart, are you supposed to write a thank you note?

Exactly, their rationale kinda makes sense. If you see a guy headed to the door with a weapon, assume the worst. Too many crazies out there

How exactly does Walmart enforce a ban like that? They going to put his picture in every Walmart by the registers? Implant him with a tracking chip. They can cancel his Walmart Credit Card but what about him using cash or another CC, or will his name be flagged in the system so he can’t use any CC’s?

My signature is three bullet holes in the shape of a clover leaf in the span of a quarter at 15 yards. I'll sign if they hold the paper.

Why open carry and scare people? That is not very smart. Just conceal carry and be ready.

Seems to me like they can not enforce this ban without a court restraining order. As another Freeper/business owner posted on another thread, the agreement a business makes when it gets its business license is that it becomes a place of public accommodation when it is open. They have the option of not providing service, but cant deny access when open.

It’s their right.

Remains to be seen. I would like to see a legal challenge. Places of public accommodation should be forced to abide by the laws of the community in which they do business. If open carry is the law in that state, a business shouldn’t be allowed to deny access to someone who is acting within the law.

Agree. But what’s going to happen is, someone like this is going to get banned and there’s going to be video that shows him acting like an ass and giving WM every reason to give him the boot. But this person will fight it in court and it will end up at SCOTUS and then we have the dilemma all lawyers are taught to avoid: “If you don’t know the answer, don’t ask the question in court”.

Pushing OC could end up having some very much unintended consequences. CCW and be done with it.

.....”Recently Walmart banned a man from all of their stores’ nationwide for open carrying in a Kentucky Walmart after someone called the police to say that an armed man was inside the store acting suspiciously.” .....exactly why I have the right, but wisely choose not, to open carry anywhere...! this is known as SWATting, if I am correct.... some foaming-at-the-mouth anti-gun crusader sees an opportunity to make up a phony story about “acting suspiciously” and calls the cops, who respond with a SWAT team.... yeah; carry concealed; you may have the right to carry open, but it is not always prudent to do so.....

This is 2019. Facial recognition is very good now. The security cameras watch everyone coming into their store.
The program alerts security, who then directs the identified person to leave.

“and I don’t have any open carry holsters. “

I have several. My carry when hunting and fishing is too big for cc.

I am always armed. What advantages are there to carrying your weapons in the open? My opinion is that carrying your weapon in a concealed fashion has the distinct advantage of not drawing attention. Thus lending some form of surprise.
