In a piece for the magazine’s October issue, Hill insists that black athletes are doing blacks no good by allowing “white” colleges to use the student’s athletic prowess to raise funds to benefit the college.
After noting that 2018’s top college prospect Kayvon Thibodeaux brought a lot of notoriety to a historically black college when he was looking colleges over, Hill pointed out that the NCAA and the “white” colleges that participate in the conference make billions a year off the sweat of black athletes.
“Almost all of these schools are majority white,” Hill disparagingly wrote, “in fact, black men make up only 2.4 percent of the total undergraduate population of the 65 schools in the so-called Power Five athletic conferences. Yet black men make up 55 percent of the football players in those conferences, and 56 percent of basketball players.”
This disparity works against majority black colleges, Hill says.

Actually, my post up above was less racist than it appears.
I would like to see colleges go back to being about education, not sports, and athletes being coddled and some being graduated without actually learning much about the subjects of their degrees.

I absolutely agree.....education should always be first....sadly today’s big college presidents are all about how much money they can reap in .....and the NCAA is right along with them...

When I was in college the black athletes were the BMOCs but now they are just one more exploited victim class in our PC identity politics campus culture

I agree too, but some of the atheletes are not really academically oriented but the sport scholarship may open a path to a rewarding future.
This should not be forsaken in the name of helping students in other places who are actually academically oriented. Each of us us has a path to find. I do not personally approve of using political power in the manner suggested because I think it would be abused and end up hurting the very people it was thought would be helped.
Good to me too, if only because student-athletes should be fairly representative of the student body, not strange hirelings (badly paid too) who train all the time instead of studying.
