Mattis: Obama Failed to Respond to Iran Bomb Plot on U.S. Soil Because of Nuclear Deal
PJ Media ^ | 09/05/19

After the surprise resignation of Secretary of Defense James Mattis last December, Democrats were quick to politicize the news, and have certainly been hoping ever since that Mattis would provide them with new information they could use to attack Donald Trump. He does have a memoir coming out, Call Sign Chaos: Learning to Lead, but it looks like it’s Barack Obama and Joe Biden who get the bulk of the criticism.

Prior be being Secretary of Defense under Trump, Mattis served as commander of U.S. Central Command under Obama and Biden. Mattis had predicted that Iran would continue to provoke the United States. Mattis’s warning went ignored, and when Iran committed an act of war on American soil, he was not told about it, and the United States never responded to it.

Where did you get the info about Trump being in the trades?

I Goolaged it, but the results are scanty.

Great post, and it explains a great many things.

I studied Trump’s life from August 2015 and got the deeper picture.

His young life is centered around his father Fred.

His military life was for some reason on FR taken down due to copyright.

Here’s one that is still up:

https://www.npr.org/2015/11/10/455331251/this-is-where-donald-trump-played-by-the-rules-and-learned-to-beat-the-game

I archived the clips from research in 2015 and 2016 but posted and discussed them on FR in those years.I have some personal deadlines but if I have time this weekend I’ll dig around to find them.

I just tried searching and of course google or as you say ‘goolage’ is listing all the hit pieces on Trump from Russian prostitutes, to tax evasion to mob connections and so on an so on. The clutter Goolag throws up is so thick it’s no wonder a good segment of the American population thinks he’s the worst form of human being imaginable.

Where it’s best to look about his young life is BEFORE he was a candidate in local publications like the Village Voice. Donald was always in the news in NYC and there were tons written about his childhood back then.

Here’s one from the Village Voice that is fair but would be fairer if it were several years before. I’ll let you dig on those years before:

https://www.villagevoice.com/2015/07/20/how-a-young-donald-trump-forced-his-way-from-avenue-z-to-manhattan

I found many fair indepth stories on Donald from the Village Voice from years ago before he was turned into Hitler by Ghoulgo and the usual suspects.

Thank you. This gives me a place to start.

I'm a talented journeyman, but nowhere as good as Trump, nor as smart.

The lies of the Media anger me.

Doubling down, eh Hostage?

You need to learn how to do research.

Mattis sent his letter of resignation to Trump on December 20, 2018. Trump’s comment that day as reported by the Military Times was :

“President Trump on Thursday announced that Defense Secretary Jim Mattis would be retiring at the end of February.”

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/pentagon-congress/2018/12/20/read-defense-secretary-mattis-resignation-letter/

Three days later on December 23 as reported by Military Times, Trump announced that he would replace Mattis sooner, starting January 1, 2019:

“Just days after Defense Secretary Jim Mattis announced he would step down from that post in late February, President Donald Trump announced he would push the popular Cabinet member out even earlier.”

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/pentagon-congress/2018/12/23/trump-fires-mattis-early-shanahan-to-take-over-jan-1/

So the only “firing” that happened was Trump’s decision to hasten the effective date of the resignation that Mattis himself had tendered.

To anyone paying attention it is a case of “You can’t quit, because I’m firing you”, done three days after the fact. Obviously it fooled you.

Here’s one about his secret trip to Iraq in Dec 2018 but it’s not the one I studied. The one that gave great detail I think was in Heavy.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump/in-a-first-trump-makes-surprise-visit-to-u-s-troops-in-iraq-idUSKCN1OP16V

All the usual suspects ran stories about his secret trip but I try not to cite them because who knows what the hell they are going to write. Chances are it would be fake.

Try using Bing which is a little better than Goolag. Bing is less cluttery with the hit pieces which Goolag will stack on the first several pages because they hate Trump.

Mattis told his story to save face but the back news is everywhere including many video sources with Trump saying directly he fired Mattis.

But if Mattis floats your boat, have at it.

“but the back news is everywhere including many video sources with Trump saying directly he fired Mattis.”

“Back News”.

So... is that like secret, gnostic news not commonly available to the un-initiated?

And is it only on video? Who makes it?

I’ve never run across “back news” before.

Please describe what “back news” is, and where to find it, so that the rest of us can learn about this amazing source of information.

.…..well, I guess you’ve been eating too much Hot Tabasco sauce. Mattis went to work for Trump and almost immediately began charting his own course and being disloyal to Trump who is trying to thrive in an impossible situation. This is well known and highly reported.

I agree with you that his military service is remarkable. But, I don’t appreciate his disloyalty to Trump which only gave ammo to the despicable Leftists in the media and Congress.

Hostage, thanks for the insights. I’m looking forward to reading those sources.

I think much of Trump’s PR negatives come from his public debut as a young business and community leader in the
70’s and 80’s. I think he’s always been profoundly idealistic and committed to New York. But, the glamorous play-boy image projected in the tabloids has done him no good. He was either getting bad advice, or none. I recall that I didn’t realize that he has only two divorces, not the dozens from the impression the media created.

Does that square with what you know?

I think he may have been natural born, but his real father—I say it was FMD— was such an embarrassment that they fabricated his legend of Kenyan royal forebears.

Found one of the sources. It wasn’t as easy today as it was years ago. I used ‘Startpage.com’ as a search engine. Using Google to find anything on the early Trump seems impossible unless it’s filled with sniping writers that cast Trump as a monster of sorts.

It was the Gwen Ifil interview and there’s a partial transcript. It also has authors Gwenda Blair and Timothy O’Brien who wrote books on the Trump family which were also among my readings years ago. If you can get a copy of Blair’s book, you’ll have about all you need for background material related to Trump’s growing up with his father. O’Brien’s book is also good.

https://www.pbs.org/weta/washingtonweek/web-video/all-about-donald-trump%E2%80%99s-early-years-troubled-teen-military-academy-and-business-school

Here’s some quips:

“GWENDA BLAIR: Dad worked 24/7. If it was Sunday, you wouldn’t take that day off. You would put the kids in the car and go over to a construction site. You would look for unused nails, because why would you waste a nail? He was a very tough and demanding guy, said to have told his boys, be killers, win, very competitive. And that competitive streak came out double in Donald.”

Me: Gwenda is talking about Sundays AFTER Church. Trump’s mother Mary Anne always made the family attend church on Sundays without fail, no excuses.

Also author Michael D’Antonio:

“MICHAEL D’ANTONIO: You won’t find people at Penn who will say, well, I was Donald’s really good friend, I was in a fraternity with him, or we socialized.

He didn’t do any of those things. He studied. And then, come Friday, as soon as he could, he’d jump in his car and go back to Queens, where he worked with his dad. So, from the very start with Donald, it was about getting control of the family business, building it, growing it, and becoming the rich and famous and powerful person that he eventually became.”

This last quip from D’Antonio corroborated another source I remember but haven’t located yet that Donald was not allowed to party with his college buds on weekends because his Dad made him work and by work is meant physical construction and cleaning work, like cleaning or replacing toilets. Our President has done it all. No job is beneath him.

Another reason Donald did not party is because of what happened to his older brother Fred Jr.

“GWEN IFILL: But that same pressure didn’t sit well with Trump’s oldest brother, Freddy.

TIMOTHY O’BRIEN, Author, “Trump Nation”: Fred Jr. really couldn’t stand the pressure. He ended up not going into his father’s real estate business, wanted to become a pilot. He ended up an alcoholic, and he died of alcoholism.

GWEN IFILL: Trump cites Freddy’s experience as why he doesn’t drink.

DONALD TRUMP: I probably wouldn’t be here talking to you today if — if we didn’t — if I didn’t have my brother Fred, because he kept me off alcohol. Now, maybe, with my kind of a personality, I would be a serious alcoholic. I just don’t know. But I have never had a glass of alcohol in my life.”

I have the full transcript somewhere and will post it when I can find it.

A couple of other notes on Donald. He has passed his father’s work ethic onto his children, all of them. There are no slouches in that family. It’s just never allowed to exist. And being blue collar, identifying with blue collar Americans is the norm, not the exception. Even though the family may be surrounded by opulent gold-gilded cornices, chandeliers, Meyer-Gunther furniture, and so on, they know their roots are blue collar. Don Jr. operates an excavator and is proud of it. Eris is amazing, I’ve got to find the interview of Eric where he’s challenged about knowledge of construction. Eric has encyclopedic knowledge of structures and high-end finishing. I can see how Eric could take practically any dilapidated building and turn it into a 5-star establishment. You don’t get that level of expertise unless you work your butt off.

Well enough for now. I’ve got to get back to my own projects. If you find any sources, please also post them here because as you know the search engine algorithms are now designed to hide anything positive about Trump and the Trump family.

great post! Thanks! I always wondered why Trump fired Mattis...your explanation sounds right! having worked at command posts in hot zones I get the disconnect between the Pentagon and reality on the ground. I always figured Mattis did not do what Trump wanted and that can cut both ways. The opposite can always be true that the guys in the rear with the gear can have a better overall common operating picture (I believe it is called), but ISIS was pretty one dimensional. Just kill ‘em...which is what we did!

I wouldn’t say he’s profoundly idealistic. He’s practical to the the extreme. He’s just extremely capable and able.

I mean take the Wollman Rink for example. That project languished for over a decade, cost overruns up the wazoo, eventually abandoned into a city scandal of mismanagement and corrupt politics, Donald Trump comes along and waves his magic wand, it’s transformed into a city landmark that is a world attraction, brought in ahead of schedule and under budget. And everyone said it couldn’t be done.

His playboy days are understandable. His sex drive was likely off the charts but he always treated women respectfully. Look how he’s taken care of his ex’s. They are all content and happy, nothing bad to say about him. Did they have fights during their marriage to him? Yes, but in the end he treated them fairly which is a lot more than most can say about their divorces.

Yes, he had two divorces. He’s genuinely in love with Melania who is classy down to her bones. Many don’t know she straightened him out.

My understanding is that after his first wife Ivana had her facial plastic surgery that went wrong, Ivana became very bitter and impossible to deal with. Her divorce from Donald was followed by his marriage to Marla Maples which he truthfully admitted was all about lust. But he took good care of Marla and she’s happy in her life now.

So Donald meets incredibly beautiful Melania and carries on his playboy persona with her and she stops him in his tracks and lets him know it’s not happening that way with her. It doesn’t matter if he’s famous or rich, she demands respect and gentlemanly conduct at all times. And Melania is conservative, pro-life, Christian, aware of humble circumstances. She transformed Donald to the pro-life conservative Christian he is today.

Melania is just what Donald needed.

I’m started to sound like a tabloid myself here so I’ll leave it at that for now. For some starting point references, see #76 above.
