Good on you! I’v actually had a union member who really liked a candidate for office tell me that he couldn’t vote for him because his union said not to!
My union is no different from my employer.
They both exist to make money and they both do what’s best for them and not necessarily for me.
The union just has its own special area of law carved out that it gets to operate under.
I learned that first hand many years ago.
I don’t hate the union but I’m not in love with them either. Same with my employer.
