ODESSA, Texas — UPDATE: ACTIVE SHOOTER REPORTED STAY INDOORS FOR BOTH cities
Police confirm a second shooter is in the areas driving a stolen mail van.
Officials are responding to an active shooter in Odessa.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the shooter is in all Gold Passenger car armed with a rifle and headed from Odessa to Midland.
Several people [now reporting 30 shot in Midland and Odessa] have been injured including police and civilians.
Even I’m getting kinda tired of this everyday. I’m still shocked people just stood there and did nothing. What good is open carry?
True. A transparent plan. They want a frightened , huddled group of subjects who have no guns at all as they listen to the orders of the mighty armed rulers. Before 1776 that was everybody.

Nebraska has open carry, in my 42 years ive only seen someone open carry one time.
The good people need to stop sitting around and take action. It does nobody any good for people to walk around with guns, but not use them when needed.

Every time this happens it hits hearts hard and everyone instinctively goes into “how can we stop this” mode. It hurts and everyone is desperately trying to find the cause and the cure.
I've had one happen at an event I almost went to (Gilroy Garlic Festival).
It isn't fun checking in with friends that you know went to the event to make sure they got out alive.
Why don't you reconsider your really, really dumb post, and hit the abuse button on yourself?
I get sick of the “false flag” and conspiracy nonsense. The only conspiracy that occurs is in the reporting, where killings by Muslims, gays or blacks mysteriously disappear and the only featured ones are by weirdo white “incels” (involuntary celibates). These are mostly men in their early 20s who are dysfunctional, feel bad and resentful about their inability to find a place in society, and live a borderline life, most of it on-line.
Most are basically leftists or eco-freaks...but are reported by the press as being right wingers, “nationalists,” white supremacists (although they hate all humanity equally), and Republicans. This is so even though they generally aren’t members of any party, and even express and post leftist or ecofreak views, etc. So the media is what you’ve got to look at if you want a conspiracy (intentional or not).
But these things aren’t being staged and you miss the significance if you think they are.

Taking on a reported rifle with a pistol is not generally a winning tactic.
I’ve seen a few in Pennsylvania, but none in Florida. I’ve only been to Texas once but thought everyone carried.
I hope that’s the case to be honest.

Pistol versus guy in a moving vehicle with a (reported) rifle.
Pistol v. rifle, usually guy with the pistol loses badly - consider also that legally a shooter is responsible for any bullet they fire. Their backstop in this case is a retail district.
You want to be responsible for killing some kid in a store across the street because you couldn’t hit the moving vehicle or you had a bad ricochet?
