A federal judge on Thursday ordered the sex trafficking case in New York against Jeffrey Epstein to be dismissed following the financier's death in a Manhattan jail earlier this month.
U.S. District Judge Richard Berman signed a "nolle prosequi," ruling that the case will be dismissed, according to a copy of the document obtained by The Hill.
“Because Jeffrey Epstein, the defendant, died while this case was pending, and therefore before a final judgment was issued, the Indictment must be dismissed under the rule of abatement,” the filing reads.
The ruling does not mean that federal prosecutors can't still pursue a conspiracy investigation surrounding the allegations against Epstein, NBC News reported.
Prosecutors had maintained earlier this month that Epstein's apparent suicide would not stop efforts to pursue justice for alleged victims in the case.
Berman had previously said he would allow the criminal case against Epstein to continue until after the disgraced financier's accusers had a chance to testify in court.

This man was (is?) Jewish, and died(?) on Tisha B’Av, the saddest day on the Jewish calendar because of the destruction of both Temples and more.
I didn’t make a point to search, but I didn’t see one peep about this from the usual Geula blogs that I regularly read.
Yet the odious nature of this man and the mystery of his cause of death - or even if he died - involve many connections to the tradition about the Messiah being spiritually born on Tisha B’Av (receiving his Messianic soul), *because* it is the day that lives in infamy — the lowest point on the Jewish calendar.
Sooo, if the most dispicable Jewish man who is in the forefront of the news dies/disappears on Tisha B’Av... where are the experts to connect the dots to the arrival of the highest-level soul in the history of the world? Nobody presumably on the ball wants to touch it, or even notices, it seems.
There’s no shortage of instant wake-up data points either, starting with the gematria of his name: 753, the year commonly accepted for the founding of Rome. And it goes on. And on.
Well, the narrative is running right on schedule anyway even as the watchers are alseep at the switch like those guards in the jail.

I’m satisfied with that ruling. I have no interest in Epstein and if true he should have been held accountable. But, realistically, are those of you decrying this want to have his frozen corpse brought to trial and, if convicted, placed in a freezer, in side a jail cell to serve his prison term?
For all of the theorizing and speculation that's rampant, that really is the simple key fact. Like air, it sails right by.

It is pretty clear that the opportunity for “discovery” and exposing high ranking political pedophiles is not going to happen. A lot of powerful people will sleep better now including Bill Clinton.
The comment about pursuing others who helped procure underage girls for Epstein is likely not going to happen.
I wonder what the FBI investigation on the reason for the failure of the jail cell camera watching Epstein will be.

The case against Epstein is over; it is well-settled law that if a defendant dies before his criminal case is over, the indictment is "abated" (treated as if it never happened). But this has zero impact on his co-conspirators; they can still be indicted and tried.
My hypothesis on all of this was that Epstein was a “shared asset” among intelligence services of multiple countries.
He provided blackmail material against politicians, business leaders, etc from the various nations.
In exchange they kept him safe from prosecution living the lifestyle to which he had become accustomed.
This was multiple “Deep States” in action....
They either murdered him or used his “suicide” as a cover for sending him into hiding.
Any “investigation” will be a joke—the perps have blackmail files (or can trade for such files) on anyone who might try to do the investigating.
Both Truman and Eisenhower warned us—the intelligence community was no longer our community—a monster was created that had an agenda of its own—accountable to no public official of any nation.
