The news that Ruth Bader Ginsburg was treated for pancreatic cancer raised the possibility of a Supreme Court opening within the next year.
The 86-year-old Ginsburg's health has been declining for years, to where the last year has felt like a bad remake of the 1989 Weekend at Bernie's movie. Instead of enjoying her golden years in retirement, Ginsburg has been propped up and hidden in the hopes of holding the seat until a Democrat is elected.
The always elegant Michael Moore, who previously placed a Ginsburg doll atop a Christmas tree, summed up the Democrat zeitgeist when he tweeted, "HOLYMOTHEROFRBG!! EVERYBODY, RIGHT THIS SECOND, JOIN A MOVEMENT, CAMPAIGN, GRASS ROOTS GROUP -WHATEVER - AND WORK NONSTOP BTWN RIGHT NOW & NOV 2020!"
The Left is already manning the barricades. The resulting hearing will make the Brett Kavanaugh fiasco, a dark moment in U.S. history, look like a charming affair. In the event that President Donald Trump nominates Amy Coney Barrett, as many conservatives hope, this hearing will be a preview of the Apocalypse.
The rise of hatred on the Left, aided by years of persistent media bias and leftist propaganda, has created a rolling tidal wave of hate ready to crash on shore in violence. The two most likely triggering events that would cause that crash are the re-election of President Trump and the next opening on the Supreme Court, particularly to fill Ginsburg's seat. It's an increasingly good bet that the latter will come first.
The Democrats are telegraphing they will go scorched earth to fight Barrett, and Senator Chuck Schumer will appeal to President Trump to prevent her nomination. Trump should politely decline.

The whole point of the Kavanaugh fiasco was to send a message to future nominees that they will drag you and your family through the mud, and therefore discourage them from wanting the job in the first place.
The problem is that Diane Finestein is still alive. She should have been shot dead for orchestrating such an antiAmerican debacle.

The media is not talking about her. That usually means they know something they don’t want us to know.
If she goes after January 1st then the Democrats are in the clear and can oppose any nominee Trump puts out there by claiming the Biden rule that McConnell used to block Garland’s nomination. McConnell will ignore that and try and get Trump’s nomination onto the bench regardless of the cries of hypocrisy. Where it gets tricky is whether there will be 50 votes to confirm. All Democrats will vote against the nominee, regardless of gender, saying that they’re following the same rule McConnell used and claiming hypocrisy on the part of the Republicans for trying to rush the nomination through. Three or four Republican senators will be in tight races and charges that they’re violating the same rule used against Garland could cost them in the election and could cause them to vote against the nominee. And there are three or four Republican senators who might claim cover of the Biden rule to vote against Trump’s nominee just to spite him.
If they can't fabricate something convincing, they will force her to withdraw by doing an assassination attempt on one of her kids. Or maybe not just an attempt.

Well, I don’t think that having been president of the Federalist Society chapter at Stanford Law School makes someone automatically an originalist. Members of the Federalist Society can range anywhere from John Roberts to Clarence Thomas in their judicial philosophy. Yes, the Left considers all of them conservative, but there is a huge difference. Having been a law clerk to Brett Kavanaugh doesn’t automatically make Britt Grant an originalist either. Brett Kavanaugh is a moderate-conservative justice, to the right of Roberts, but to the left of Alito.
Of course, she may be an originalist. Neil Gorsuch was a law clerk to Anthony Kennedy, but turned out to be an originalist. But if being a law clerk to a particular judge / justice means something, I prefer law clerks to Clarence Thomas (Allison Eid, Allison Rushing, Neomi Rao) and Antonin Scalia (Amy Coney Barrett, Joan Larsen) to law clerks to Brett Kavanaugh. If President Trump wants to nominate a female justice, Amy Coney Barrett (46 or 47 years old) is an obvious choice. Joan Larsen (50 years old) is - in my opinion - near the upper age limit. Allison Eid is unfortunately too old (54 years old) and Allison Rushing too young for a Supreme Court justice (36 or 37 years old). Neomi Rao is the right age too, but Republican senators found something in her writings that troubled them and Clarence Thomas had to persuade them that she would be a good judge.
I like Cruz in the Senate. Mt fear if he left would be Senator Beto.
He has ZERO qualifications. He has ZERO credibility. (we couldn’t trust him).
We need this PUBLIC fight with a PUBLIC figure in an election season when everyone is watching. Life is a pissing match and we’ve been losing. Too many little ones amongst us.
