I know this wasn’t in your question’s parameters but the best medicine for an aggressive pit bull is administered in doses of 9mm (or larger).
With a pack of dogs like this whose breeds tend to be on the aggressive side, you are asking for trouble. As a dog guy, you must know that a pack of dogs is much harder to control than a individual dog. I hope you live way out in the middle of nowhere. If you live in an urban setting, I would bet that your neighbors think far less highly of your dogs.
My nearest neighbor is 3 miles away, my dogs are taught very young not to cross the property line even when chasing a bear off.
Most of the breeds I listed are either considered to be herding or guard dogs; WORKING dogs, NOT attack dogs.
They are suspicious and watchful of strangers and strange dogs but not aggressive unless attacked, and by attacked I mean a physical assault on them or me.
Their job is to tend my livestock and notify me if something or someone invades our space.
Only 5 incidents in over 22 years with these guys and girls or their progenitors; 3 of those incidents were bears they treed and the 2 others were mountain lions they treed.
Many people have come to the farm in that amount of time; adults, children, people with pets, and dogs visiting from the area around us.

A dogs manners depends strictly on the human in charge of the dog and how well he trains them and what he expects of them.
BUT just like a human being, any two legged or four legged animal can be dangerous if abused or cornered.
I’m glad to hear that you have an isolated location for your dogs. I hope it works out for you but those breeds have a higher than normal incident of aggressive behavior. I don’t buy the idea that bad dogs are the sole responsibility of bad owners. All dog people know that each breed has its own characteristics and personalities. Training can suppress or enhance those traits but can never completely eliminate them. Well-trained dogs have been known to go off-the-rails for no apparent reason.
Serious question... if you encountered a pit bull and you did not have a weapon (gun, stick, golf club, etc.), what is the best way to incapacitate or kill the pit bull. Is it possible to grab its back legs and start pounding the dog into the pavement? Maybe apply a rear naked choke hold? Seriously, I have thought about this in case I ever had to deal with this. Thanks!

The harder and more urgent question is “How can I stop a pit bull attack?” Media outlets don’t want to tackle this one. The answers are difficult because pit bulls are bred to be game. One dogfighter’s definition of gameness is “Kill, or die trying.” This means that answers to the question of how to stop a pit bull attack will necessarily be extreme. The first answer is, “most people can’t stop a pit bull attack.” And the rest of the answers involve violence, weapons and strategies to use lethal force.
To make matters worse, pit bull advocates condemn people for wanting to know how to protect themselves. A quick internet search show that all kinds of good and decent people only want to protect themselves are worried about avoiding pit bull attacks. This isn’t about a desire to kill anything, just a desire to not be a victim.
