Sen. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) trails her Democratic opponent for the first time, according to a new survey, as President Trump's approval rating falls in the key swing state.
Retired astronaut Mark Kelly leads McSally, the retired fighter pilot-turned-politician, by a 46 percent to 41 percent margin, according to the poll conducted by OH Predictive Insights, a Phoenix-based pollster, and released first to The Hill.

Kelly will be another anti-gunner in the Senate.
Arizona will go back to two Blue Senators.
This is only IMHO.
I think he appointed McSally (he couldn’t have found a poorer campaigner if he tried) because he thinks she will LOSE the 2020 Special Election to whatever candidate the DemocRATS run. Dicey would himself then run in the 2022 election that will fill that seat for a full 6-year term. I can think of no other reason for him to appoint McSally.
The large number of Republican Congress people announcing they quit would normally presage a rout in 2020.
Can't stand the guy. Taking advantage politically of his wife's misfortune.

I think Ducey should “telegraph” that he will run in 2020 and state that his intent was to only appoint McSally for the 2 years until the special election. Otherwise, we likely lose that seat in 2020.
How so. I look on it as another step in draining the swamp.

McSally is a horrible RINO senator, terrible candidate in 2018.
A pick up in Alabama will even it out. McSally was and is a disaster.
McSally has some problems that she cannot seem to overcome. Perhaps she’ll get and take some good advice?
I am more concerned with Trump’s poll numbers.

I wonder why Kelli Ward is not being more pro-active with the R party? What has she done lately other than Facebook postings? We need a strong leader to head the party and I don’t see anybody who would fit my idea of a strong leader.

Appointing a demonstrated loser to office was such a classic GOPe loser move. Can’t we just kill it now and start the new Trump party for winners???
If I were an Arizonan I would vote for and support McSally (warts and all). Kelly is a gun-hating, anti-Second Amendment mongering opportunist, and would work to confiscate your gun rights and all the other little things the Dems have in mind for us if they take both houses and the POTUS.
Whoever thought Flake and McCain were Republicans? (as in Individual Liberty and Economic Freedom, etc.)
Regardless of the quitters being wets at best, historically when one party’s members have decided to quit in more than normal numbers it has been followed by a large loss of seats.
