That’s the problem. If the Cops did that, they’d get sued to kingdom come and De Blasio and the Democrat controlled city council will turn their backs away from them.

Surely mare de blahblahblah fully supports those-——attacking the LEOs . Perhaps it’s a distraction from the LEOs searching for a certain $850 million that’s unaccounted for?
I have to admit, have mixed feelings about this. Our police force is heavily militarized, nullifying posse comitatus. The salaries, they tell me about are incredibly high, but not like our struggling military families, so it cannot be for the high risk.
Accepting union perks and salaries comes with a price. Tired of it, then change your vote. Change the vote, change your city.
What are they going to do about it? Except collect their paychecks and cry. If they are so mistreated, why are they hanging around? The pain must be worth the pleasure.

But as far as "keeping the peace" goes, cultures, villages, tribes were "keeping the peace" among themselves long before organized police were ever thought about. People worked out among themselves what they considered "civilized" behavior to be. Different entities had different standards of acts that were forbidden. Most, if not all, included murder, rape, robbery, stealing from other members, and kidnapping other members of the group. Should one commit one of the forbidden acts upon a member of the group, they were dealt with. The Phoenicians used crucifixion as they considered the ground sacred and did not want it contaminated by the criminal.

I don’t know if that is relevant now. I do understand the historical assessment but to use an example of a well off Seattle suburb most don’t even talk to each other and it is a strange dynamic of ignoring the issues like crime. I moved my family out of the one we were in because of this issue. Your neighbors are not engaged and nor do they want to be. I Am not sure what to call it but a form of civil or social breakdown of community. As for the city of Seattle that has become a real S##t show and the LEO’s there are in flight mode.
As with everything NYC why don’t they just go on strike/sick out for a few weeks?
I understand what you are saying, Mr. Nuke From Orbit, I get it perfectly. We have became too “civilized” to “keep the peace” or to “protect our selves”. Whichever terminology you prefer. We now prefer to be ruled rather than being led. The Master [Government] has placed the chains of slavery so lightly upon us that we do not even realize that we are wearing them.
POTUS, Trump should hold a “Support All Of Our Law Enforcement Officers, Fire Fighters, First Responders, Hospital, ER, OR, ICU, Nurses, Doctors, Medical Aides, etc., in NYC, Madison Square Garden or, better yet, Yankee Stadium, to salute and celebrate these fine public servants who give so much to there fellow Americans in NYC and, across the entire country. These groups should be invited to attend along with Tens of Thousands, if not millions of everyday Americans who support and stand with them.
Take note: Democrat, Low Life, America Haters, and would be America Destroyer, Mayor, Bill De Blasio and every Democrat in New York city & state, should not be either invited or welcome to be present, scum & vermin that they all have become!!!
